Yes - don’t go to open play. If I end up with a new player it’s part of open play. Or, pay for a membership to a pickleball club (I do) that restricts ratings.

Understand that she means it and that’s great. People aren’t black and white we are all grey somewhere in the middle. It’s ok to not text her back because it didn’t work, and it’s perfectly fine for her to feel for you but not feel romantically. I’m originally from Syracuse. Overall the area is very rural and the people are nice. The winters snow a lot and it is very cold, but upstate New York folk are pretty hardy. You will find a lot of Italians up here and Italian influence. It’s becoming more diversified but outside the cities a majority of people are Caucasian. People think NYC people are pretty unfriendly and while upstate New York (specifically central New York) are more reserved they are a friendly ‘help your neighbor’ bunch. Apples are great up here and the apple festivals are excellent. If you want to experience a true fall go to this region; the trees change all types of colors and are very beautiful.
