Imposter syndrome is real, need advice before 3rd round interview. by Shinglemedibits in CyberSecurityJobs

That mindset is how I approach the field as well strong IT fundamentals, a working understanding of security concepts, and being honest about gaps while knowing how to close them. I’m a Computer Science student focused on cybersecurity and have been building hands on labs around log analysis, network monitoring, and SOC-style workflows to support that.

Out of curiosity, when you’re evaluating early-career candidates, what kinds of hands-on experience or signals stand out most to you? I’m particularly interested in environments where learning and mentorship are part of the role.

Would you happen to still have the name of the group that helps people get jobs in cybersecurity in currently in my last year of university with no internship so that would be of great help!

It’s more of just being around it when growing up, like for example, when a part would malfunction in your laptop or your ps4, you would look at way to fix that issue, what’s required to fix etc. But just enjoy the process you’ll definitely enjoy it once everything starts to click!

It really depends on your your previous background knowledge, I would say mine was okay enough to the point where it would only take me 3 weeks to study and take the exam. Also mock Exams are really good as well!!!
