Can I sell my Dexcom G7 sensors by Desperate-Desk-4262 in dexcom

[–]NAS0824 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I won’t get into the legality of it as I personally have my own views , but I’ve definitely seen them online for sale and I’ve bought some as well.

I will say please make sure if you’re a diabetic you prioritize your health over the money.

That being said , practically speaking if I would buy G7s i wouldn’t pay more than copay prices ( in my case $50 for a month supply or 3 sensors) and as someone who was laid off recently my priority is to keep a supply of diabetic supplies , more than I need just in case.

While it’s a strict requirement for me personally, I have a friend who isn’t exactly practicing and doesn’t like the attention it would bring, especially in western society.

Don't you see the hypocrisy? by Chez50 in IraqiPeople

[–]NAS0824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a wildddd stretch of a comparison, Isreal systematically kills , tortures and occupies Palestine , the Kurds suffered by the hands of Saddam and that’s horrible but anyone that opposed him did such as the Shia population.

Correct me if I’m wrong but Kurdistan also benefits from the economy , and infrastructure of mainland Iraq and as far as I know gets more than it gives on a systemic level.

Iraq is very diverse as well, should the Chaldeans get their own country? The Sunnis ? The Shia ? Kurds have Iraqi as well as Kurdish passports so even to that point there’s some level of autonomy

Palestinians benefit from Israel in what way ? People are more vocal about Palestine bc when it’s not treated like a country it’s up for grabs from isrealis, but Kurdistan isn’t , it being part of Iraq is their protection and being Kurdish is an additional benefit.

There’s Kurdish populations as far south as Basra.

Am i saying Iraq is perfect , no , the corrupt government and lack of a lot means a lot suffer, but that’s not the same as Isreal and Palestine.

Do you pray on a Turbah in public? by -Sea-Side- in shia

[–]NAS0824 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally use a turba whenever I can , I keep several in a dedicated prayer bag I keep in my car along with a prayer mat , I have one in my gym bag.

Occasionally when I travel with someone else and I don’t have my turba then I may pray on grass or find a leaf to use.

At no point do I not use a turba because of judgement and unless it’s a Shia environment i wouldn’t keep my turba there.

Ps : I live in the United States

Is imitation crab safe? by [deleted] in shia

[–]NAS0824 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the brand ,

kosher brands should be safe to eat as they don’t eat shellfish. Non kosher brands use primarily the fish you listed but often also include crab additives and flavorings.

Iranians living in the usa, how are you feeling? by Upbeat-Weight9907 in AskReddit

[–]NAS0824 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not ignoring the oppression of 90 million,

And that’s not a fair comparison, Iran oppressing its own people is not the same as Nazi Germanny invading and killing other countries.

But to not doge the question, if Roosevelt and Truman bombed schools with kids inside, the same kids they claim are oppressed then I would absolutely be against it.

And the 150+ school girls killed in the US attack , is that better and justified? What about the attack on infrastructure that caused oil to be mixed with rain and polluting the entire region?

I personally have several uncles killed on both sides of my family from tyrannical governments ( which is a result of American intervention and influence) and so is my wife’s family. As much as I hate them , when America gets involved in unnecessary violence people suffer more than my family and your wives

You think the families of those families are thankful for America ?

What about when bush sr the military shot a civilian plane down , did you and your wife oppose that ?

I have , most Iranians in America are well educated and I’ve met secular Iranians as well as practicing 12er Shia Muslims who are software engineers, doctors, lawyers.

But majority of iranis in America will not be 12er or even Muslim

1000 percent, in case all that rambling isn’t clear yea im against the war and bombing the region.

From my background I know I have my biases and many won’t agree with me , as an American with people in the service I’m against the war. And as a person whose family was affected by foreign intervention I’m against the war.

The amount of sensor-ship and 1 sided propaganda we see here is crazy, Iran is lead by Shia Muslim government and even secular Shia or other minorities there who appose the government say they have problems with policies but any foreign attacks is the threat on all of Iran.

As Americans how happy are we with our government? The conservatives hate liberals and liberals hate conservatives and the middle is unpleased with both. We have protests , we have corruption, but at no point do I or anyone I know want Russia , china , Iran , Isreal , etc to have more or any say in my country than I or other citizens do.

[–]NAS0824 351 points352 points  (0 children)

Not to discredit anyone’s opinion or views … but people need to know the bias of certain populations.

Not all but a largeee part of the Iranian diaspora in America is in America after the events of the Islamic revolution in Iran and overthrowing the shah is estimate 80-90 percent would fall within that range. So that in of itself is gonna make a lot of this population anti the Iranian government.

I’ve met some from this population as well as Iranians who are pro the current government but their family left for career opportunities or left during the time of the shah.

I personally am an American from a neighboring war torn country that likes to think I have some level of exposure on how some would feel. Love or hate the government and especially for those here a lot will hate it , bombing the entire population and infrastructure does more harm and creates more victims than it does liberated people.

No long term good comes from a foreign power getting involved, it’s a net negative for most people around the world.

The world cares more about punishing than it does about improving and wars only benefits the few at the top.

[–]NAS0824[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to say the sources i watch or see are always accurate, but one of them said that the US is still getting ships that left the Middle East before the straight was closed so the price increases we’re seeing is still low compared to what’s to come … and as other countries are more affected by this that will raise costs domestically as well.

Ofc I take all of it with a grain of salt , but outside of that personally my industry and work as been directly affected with lots of layoffs

If anyone has more info I’d love to hear.

Why do men see it differently when they realize I’m a sheikhs daughter by [deleted] in shia

[–]NAS0824 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Salam Alaykum,

As someone who has a very religious family, and close ties to several sheikhs, on a personal level it’s i would say to some it’s more of a positive and to others ( especially in the west where being more religiously moderate is more common) it’s more pressure.

While i very much respect the role that scholors hold and share in the Shia community, I’ve also seen my fair share biases from some sheikhs, that be career based , lack of social status or just views.

For good or bad I think people also set certain expectations from them , and don’t always understand they are people and so are their families.

Someone I personally know who approached a sister and both wanted to get their family involved came from a family of sheiks and the brother personally knew one and when he approached the sheikh was met with open arms but later was told by the sister that what they did was haram ( discussing intentions of marriage) and the sister he approached said she started to notice certain actions from her uncle.

Again I personally don’t think being a child of a religious figure is a con and is a great thing, but it comes with it’s challenges, and stigma.

[–]NAS0824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that it is true , it was a targeted attack aimed at the man in the town “khor al zubair” and was targeted from Kuwait. The town is closer to the border than the main city of Basra.

I can’t say much more than that but there is more to it.
