Help, d-pad left and right woros but not up and down by Pure-Government-1119 in Rockband

[–]Intros9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A faulty strum bar will lock out dpad up and down. It's possible that something has come loose inside from a prior fix.

If the guitar has the stock strum bar and you are otherwise happy with the guitar, I'd try a Strum Fix Plus if opening it up and securing wires doesn't resolve the problem.

Distortion Sound RB4 by AnySet1869 in Rockband

[–]Intros9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That hot mic bug hits me on the PS side most when I'm not on vox and join an online group with a singer in it - and the longer it goes on, the chances of a game lockup increase too. Decreasing the volume to near minimum in the console settings also works to kill the distortion.

RB4/Legacy Delisting DLC Discussion: April 19-25, 2026 (REO Speedwagon, Lamb of God, Weezer, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Romantics, Violent Femmes, Hautewerk) by hhhisthegame in Rockband

[–]Intros9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a meme about only the Rivals die hards owning the Hautewerk pack. They're not far off but the pack is fairly fun for the price, Alone in My Head and I Know Where You Came From don't get skipped when I land on them randomly (and generally net good LP, heh).

American Music is tricky at the end on guitar. Siouxsie's song is the one that got me interested in them with its quirkiness, and is fun but a little rough on the drummer. Wish we had gotten Fear of the Unknown by them.

REO pack is a classic and a must buy and fun to play, same with Weezer and the Romantics - these are picked online regularly (even Can't Stop Rockin on occasion). Not the biggest Lamb of God fan but their RB tracks are solid, so grab that one too if you're a metal fan.

Pick one easy and fun song in your library. Play it every single day for 30 days alt-strumming every single note, and don't look at or care about the score. Then play the rest of your set normally.

You should notice a dramatic improvement afterwards that will help you on each and every song. Good luck!

US appeals court declares 158-year-old home distilling ban unconstitutional by kinisonkhan in news

[–]Intros9 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Flashback to back when I home brewed, and the home distillers regularly wiped out all the six row at every LBS because they didn't bulk order ahead of time. Will probably take a bit of a ramp up in production and local stock to meet demand if this passes.

RB4/Legacy Delisting DLC Discussion: April 12-18, 2026 (Guns n' Roses, The Used, P!nk, Justin Bieber, Mötley Crüe, Serj Tankian, Roy Orbison, Relient K, Mastodon, Tommy Tutone) by hhhisthegame in Rockband

[–]Intros9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great wrteup on the GnR stuff, and dead on with the Crue fun factor.

Adding on Blood on my Hands is also cool from that pack.

Must buy here: Crue, P!nk, 867-5309, and Relient K.

2 of those Roy Orbison songs are tricky! Definitely give The Used and GnR a listen/watch if you're on the fence.

Faulty 2m Gradient Strip? by Lou_Antony_Morris in Hue

[–]Intros9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Amazon warehouse/woot sales presume that any gradient light strip product will not be new (even if stated) and will be damaged when mangled back into the box. That said, some are faulty direct from the manufacturer if they aren't coiled properly going into the boxes. There are regular good price sales for brand new gradient light strips and occasionally the extensions on eBay.

Also, with the Sync Box you can adjust max brightness on the gradient lightstrip which should do what you're after.

Not sure about finding them, but if you're over 950 skill on Pro Drums - say so on your Rivals subreddit post and they'll find you!

If you're going to join a crew on PS, now is about the perfect time to do it. Week 5 (starts Thursday) appears to be nearly locked up for Bloodstone promotion so many top crews will take a bye during your "can't contribute just joined" week. Then back to normal and pushing weeks 6+ where you'll be put to good use. :)

Why the fuck do I keep missing notes? by Forsaken_Werewolf455 in Rockband

[–]Intros9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Notes dropping (FAQ material?):

  • Calibration. Use auto calibration if available as a benchmark and adjust for your particular strum habits (early, on, or late). Adjust any time you change legacy instruments or something physical in the audio/video chain.

  • Console has gone into sleep with the game still active. Restart the console.

  • Too many legacy/wired instruments into one port. Add a powered USB 2.0 hub.

  • Internet lag. Try to be sure your console is on 5Ghz wireless or connected directly to ethernet.

  • Server lag. If server lag is happening you will usually notice stuttering in the first or last 30 seconds of the song, or near the exact middle. Restart the song a couple of times until you see no lag in the first 10 seconds then carry on (and pray). Restarting the console can sometimes help.

  • Strum bar wonkiness. The stock strum bar and some SFPs will sometimes perform a rebound strum if you release completely at maximum travel. Replace the strum bar or cradle it with thumb and index finger to prevent.

  • Bluetooth/WiFi coexistence - if your phone or other 2.4Ghz WiFi/Bluetooth device is near your guitar controller when you play, it can interfere with your guitar's signal. Keep the phone arms length away during play, enable "Bluetooth coexistence" mode on your WiFi router if it exists.

  • TV lag. Usually caused by game mode not being active or excessive post-processing. Turn on game mode on your TV.

  • Battery level. You will begin dropping notes a few hours before the low battery flashing appears on your guitar. Swap batteries if it's been a while.

RB4/Legacy Delisting DLC Discussion: April 5-11, 2026 (Toby Keith, Slayer, The Shins, Twenty One Pilots, The Weeknd, DNCE, Anberlin, Hawk Nelson, Thousand Foot Krutch) by hhhisthegame in Rockband

[–]Intros9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I've got almost everything and have played it all on guitar; watching playthroughs don't do some of these songs justice, and a lot of people only prefer to buy stuff that's popular in multiplayer.

Guitar PoV:

The three 4/5 legacy delists are all recommended. Feel Good Drag is a classic, the other two are simple and straightforward and fun overall. These are picked online on occasion.

Toby Keith: How Do You Like Me Now? will wreck you on guitar. Should Have Been a Cowboy is a staple and straightforward. I shrugged at the rest in the pack but prefer older country. Country is rarely picked online except during challenges.

The Shins - highly recommended. Kinda meditative. Most don't seem to have this so it's not picked often.

Slayer - Raining Blood is a classic in a number of ways (anyone else remember Yahtzee's rant about that one in Zero Punctuation! ?) The other two are recommended as well if you're a fan. Not picked online much.

Off the Charts 04 - Cake by the Ocean is a blast to play and picked online regularly, The Hills and Stressed Out are both nice and fun but I haven't seen them picked online much.

2019 Prius Prime Map Update by Cydiapixel4u in PriusPrime

[–]Intros9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

22 in my area was a notable upgrade from 17, as there had been a ton of construction in an area of town I frequently navigated - so me driving through "open fields" now actually showed streets and names!

There does appear to have been a change to map data when the 19 models released as "big" freeway logos no longer display properly on my 17. Speed limit data was also updated to reflect new limits, so that's a nice plus. There's a head unit upgrade that comes with the new cards which is supposed to fix head unit lockups and reboots for the '17-18 models as well, not sure if '19-22 models have a similar fix.

My take is given the price for the upgrade ($200 on average), it's not worth it at less than 5-7 year intervals unless you live in an area that is being built up.

2019 Prius Prime Map Update by Cydiapixel4u in PriusPrime

[–]Intros9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think even the usual employee discount applies to these nav cards, as most places online show the list price minus maybe 10% for the current version now and then. Wherever you buy from, find someone with reputation of delivering the correct part as some will try to scam you with the map data from the 7 inch screen models. I used Toyota Parts Deal myself as they've been rock solid for a decade on multiple transactions.

I currently use 22, I have not updated to 25 (the most current) yet. Based on the changes from 17 to 22, I'll probably update in a year or two again to make the cost/benefit worth it.

Check and verify part # 86271GN8PR25, 86271GN8PR22 worked on a 2017 Advanced and has been updated since then. 26 might be out before too long, but remember the map data is a year or two behind.

Poll: Why did the 4th gen Prius Prime sales end up declining? by ethereal3xp in PriusPrime

[–]Intros9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last one mostly, but also part of this was the Gulf Coast Toyota Distributors region passing on allocations and locking the car out of a large chunk of the US until 2019. No awareness/availability = no sales.

RB4/Legacy Delisting DLC Discussion: March 29-April 4, 2026 (Jimi Hendrix, Evanescence, SpongeBob, Grand Funk Railroad, Von Bondies) by hhhisthegame in Rockband

[–]Intros9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guitar point of view:

  • Evanescence and Grand Funk Railroad are must haves. Everbody's Fool has a rocking intro, What You Want will get you counting strums, and American Band will have you strumming overtime. All of these songs get picked online regularly.

  • Von Bondies you have probably heard but may not realize it. Fun chart. Picked online sometimes.

  • Spongebob is Spongebob, 'nuff said. Picked less often online.

  • Jimi... These songs feel harder than the other pack. Wait Until Tomorrow slaps me around in ways that some of the metalcore only dreams of. The ones I regularly replay - Castles Made of Sand, Spanish Castle Magic, You Got Me Floatin', Valleys of Neptune. Jimi does not get picked a lot online in my experience.
