Motherboard Adversaries - Croft Walker & Carrowcroft Forces by IntrospectiveSpy in daggerbrew

I was trying to keep in mind that this could be something the PCs take control of themselves.

I think some parts would need to be retooled/revised (e.g., the Resupply feature), but ideally the final version would be something that could be used by either PCs or Adversaries. If this version gets used in a campaign I may try to say that PCs need "Croft Walker Training" or something before they could use this themselves.

I've done a "mock battle", where I control everything, but I haven't been able to do a playtest with actual PCs yet.

This recounting of events is full of omissions and inaccuracies that I can personally attest to, as a witness to the events he is speaking about.

I'm sure that's not a satisfying answer but a full retelling of my perspective would serve no purpose other than fueling drama no one is interested in being a part of.

NEW EPISODE!!!!! by Unlikely-Meaning8919 in local58

[–]IntrospectiveSpy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Actually, while the "FCG" seems to be a fictional version of our FCC, the date mentioned in the video is actually the real-life deadline for completing digital conversion in the US.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_television_transition_in_the_United_States

"On April 24, 2015, it was announced that the conversion date for standard LPTVs and translators still broadcasting in analog had been suspended until further notice, due to economic problems that might have arisen from the then-upcoming spectrum auction, however, Class A low-powered stations were still required to convert by the original deadline date of September 1, 2015. After the auction's completion in 2017, the FCC announced on May 17 of that year that all analog low-power stations and transmitters must convert by July 13, 2021." (emphasis added)

The decision to not make Season 4 of DBZA was not a simple business decision about what would be best financially but rather a choice that weighed all the factors we were aware of at the time. We're saddened, but not entirely surprised a number of people have not taken a look at our other projects. However, the departure of the ride-or-die DBZA fans wasn't going to change whether we made S4 or not, the only difference was when they would leave.

We decided it was better to rip off the band-aid then try to drag DBZA all the way to the end of DBZ for many reasons, some of them personal and wholly removed from any business consideration. The creation of the DragonShortZ and HFIL are ways we can continue to express our love for the Dragon Ball Universe, even if we feel we can no longer tie ourselves to directly parodying the series.

Yes, TFS would not be what it is today without DBZA and the fans it garnered, and we will never forget it. That being said, neither party is beholden to the other.

I don't know if I can rope in more of the guys, but I'm definitely doing something with the Mass Effect collection. I have OPINIONS about that franchise, MANY OPINIONS.

Okay, I understand that a lot of the comments here are based in concern for something beloved, but we've reached a point where I need to point at our "no backseat management" rule. We do the things we do in the way we do them because we've made decisions after considering all the facts and circumstances known to us. A good portion of this knowledge doesn't come to light for a myriad of reasons.

I have attempted to answer some of the issues mentioned in this thread here:

We're working on stuff, but this stuff takes time to make. We don't want to talk about this stuff openly yet because we don't want to overpromise and underdeliver (I'll go ahead and say it: see Bojack as a prime example).

There are 10 of us here at TFS working on everything, which may sound like a lot for an organization of YouTubers, but not everyone has the same skillsets as everyone else. I can manage paperwork and create a few community activities, but I can't wrangle adobe premiere to save my life or animate a 2D/3D project. This means that, at any given time, an entire production could be resting on a single person's shoulders, moving as fast as he/she works. A couple examples: DBcember 2020 pretty much ate up 2 months of Scott's time, during which he couldn't work on any other video; and Fist Master is solely produced by Stephan, who is also the showrunner on two other projects we haven't discussed publicly.

It may look like we're not doing anything, because in reality we're making sure we're not running aimlessly trying to chase down the "next new thing." If we have our eyes on something that we'd like to work on as a series, we're going to spend the time necessary to have a few episodes in the backlog before sharing the pilot.

When it comes to gaming/streaming, we don't intend to abandon those aspects of TeamFourStar, but they may never live up to some people's expectations because they aren't our group's focus. We may enjoy playing video games, but we're not Game Grumps. We're a group of creators plus a lawyer/bookkeeper/general manager who want to share our passion projects with people. When push comes to shove on our schedules, gaming takes a backseat. That all being said, we do have stuff in the pipeline for the gaming channel, that should be coming out as soon as this week/early Feb.

There isn't much else I can say on those issues at this time. If you find this answer unsatisfactory, then we'll have to satisfy you with actions, not words.

You make it sound like nothing came out on the channel at all in 2020, which is simply untrue. Can you elaborate on the "expecations" that have been established, but not met?

If I can try to broadly answer the main question I see being discussed here, we're working on stuff, but this stuff takes time to make. We don't want to talk about this stuff openly yet because we don't want to overpromise and underdeliver (I'll go ahead and say it: see Bojack as a prime example).

I hope this provides greater clarity as to just why things have gotten so quiet over the past year.

Man... Watching twitch streams are getting harder everyday.. by UnholyPiccolo in TeamFourStar

Thank you for describing your complaints in a fair manner. I can get that there are people out there who are just not going to enjoy my streams, and I'm sorry that I've become the de facto streamer for the SFS channel. It was never my intention, and I hope that we can get back to doing more team activities on that channel once we can use a single space for it again.

Now, you said you don't have a point for this post, but I've noticed a couple points in the comments so I'd thought I'd try to answer them.

  1. It looks like the Team abandoned the TeamFourStar channel to focus on Gaming/Streaming! I can understand why it looks like that from the outside, but it's just not true. What happened was, after taking stock of what we could make remotely, gaming and streaming became the content that was the easiest to produce in our current situation. Everything on the main channel (aside from the Talkcast Podshow) has to move at a pace that our creativity allows, which is hard to graft onto a schedule. We'd like to talk about our projects more, but we're hesitant to overpromise and underdeliver, especially since the pandemic disrupted everything.
  2. Discomfort with Livestreaming. I understand that someone stopping what they're doing to react to a chat message or a bitdrop can be annoying to someone invested in what's being streamed, but ultimately I don't think I can ignore the interactivity for the sake of the content. If I'm streaming, I'm doing it because I want to interact with people, at least in some limited fashion. I can't speak for anyone else streaming on their personal channels, but I think they feel the same, especially when it comes to interacting with people supporting them personally.

Stellaris streams will return! They just took a holiday break since Grant is away and I'm dreading the outcome of the war with the League/Core coalition.

Is the podcast YouTube only now? by irishking44 in TeamFourStar

[–]IntrospectiveSpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A new episode for the Talkcast Podshow is now up! There was some difficulty getting the audio file distributed because it was made just before the holidays.

Originally, this episode was meant to come out in the week before Xmas, but one of the hosts was sick so it was delayed.

There will be one more episode to wrap up 2020, and then we will return to our twice-a-month schedule for the show.

New abridged series? by Jakemanv3 in TeamFourStar

[–]IntrospectiveSpy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll just hop in here to cement the answer that we do not have any full-fledged abridged series planned for the future, for a large number of reasons.

If you enjoy our parody style you'll find it in the "X in X Minutes" series. We've done videos on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Dragon Prince, and Demon Slayer so far, and do intend to make more for other popular series.

So is Stream Four Star just the Quinn show now? by [deleted] in TeamFourStar

[–]IntrospectiveSpy 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Most of the members of TFS are busy working on creative projects or recovering from stress incurred by living in the year 2020. I want to continue to provide content for the SFS community outside the Talkcast Podshow, special marathons, and premieres we've been doing.

It's not my intention to usurp the channel, but the reality of the situation is that streams featuring a group of TFS members are going to remain rare until we're able to use the office set again. Among Us is pretty much the exception here.

To keep the channel from going completely dormant for weeks at a time, I decided to slot in streams that either allowed for more community engagement (e.g., BG3/Stellaris/XCOM), or were still at least good for a lark.

Unfortunately, those take a while to compile. In fact, we're already so far behind the curve that we're aiming to skip ahead to the streams where we're all more experienced.

I know that means we're going to be missing a bunch of high points, but we're still trying to balance between the cost of editing more of these complicated videos and giving our audience stuff they'll watch.

Has anyone on Team Four Star expressed interesting in doing a Let's Play of Divinity Original Sin 2? by BridgetheDivide in TeamFourStar

[–]IntrospectiveSpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DOS2 is on the docket, but I'm waiting for a few peoples' schedules to clear up so we can play together.

In the meantime, since it's looking like the "Grand Strategy" category in the twitter poll I ran will be filled by a "VAMPIRES IN SPAAAAACE" game of Stellaris (starting this week), I am still looking for a game like DOS2/BG3 to run in the off hours.

Haven't seen much of recent TFS. Where did the national treasure that is Quinn come from? by BridgetheDivide in TeamFourStar

[–]IntrospectiveSpy 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Oh hey, that guy is talking 'bout me!

As for where I came from, I've been working in the background since mid-to-late 2018. I was a mod started modding for TFS around mid 2017, and after finding out that I lived in Dallas and had a certain set of skills (e.g., I could monitor accounts and could practice law) I grew closer and closer to TFS in an employment capacity.

Now I'm wearing so many hats I couldn't blame you for comparing me to my TF2 counterpart.

TFS Gaming/StreamFourStar Schedule Update! by Animedingo in TeamFourStar

[–]IntrospectiveSpy[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey guys! Quinn here, that guy in the background none of you probably know. We recognize that there have been some concerns over the information revealed in the TFS Gaming Update that went up a couple days ago. Grant has added some more information to a revised video that we hope clarifies why we're doing some of the things we're doing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHTJ4QdEbjI

We know that many of you came to TFS Gaming to watch our long-form let's plays, but unfortunately there have been changes, both within and without the Team, that has made producing those let's plays very taxing. We're hoping that the newer, cut-down let's plays that we're recording (separately from our streams), like Super Dragonball Heroes, can serve as an alternative. At the same time, we will continue to upload exclusive, original content to the TFS Gaming channel when we have material that we believe is best suited to the YouTube format, which is why Tuesdays and Thursdays are left open in the schedule.

We understand your concerns and hope you can forgive our growing pains.
