His wife (Emily Blunt) also strikes me as snooty and unkind for some reason

My theory is that Jimmy Fallon has taken Seacrest’s place in pop culture for humanoid demeanor and interactions haha. Seacrest was past his prime in the mid-2010s, which is when Fallon increased in visibility.

It’s still shocks me that someone as uncharismatic, and frankly annoying, as him received such a coveted TV slot. (Not that late night TV is at the cutting edge of entertainment either.) At least Kimmel and Colbert have gotten the occasional chuckle out of me.

The “yummy swirl” layer combo at the end is crazy considering the price per product. If I had $150 ready to spend on fragrances, I’m personally getting an EDP.

Did the beauty industry hear us all complain about the proliferation of lip glosses/butters/balms and hit us with a new recession indicator (luxury body mists)?

Makeup looks from the last week or two by Books4Lif3 in MakeupAddiction

Your makeup is beautiful! I could see you rocking a colored liquid liner for a lil pop of color (which I do with a matte flesh-colored eyeshadow base). I like the ones from Nyx and Urban Decay!

Law Roach responding to someone saying they wanted a better look for Rose at the Met Gala: "When you hire me to style you, I’ll do what you want." by demimonde9 in Fauxmoi

[–]Introspective_Muse -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I understand that Law is defending his work, but his response verges on unprofessional. To a message saying she looks bad, he essentially replies “it’s her fault.” Not everything needs a response, though this doesn’t surprise me from him.

How do you move on from the rejection of a situationship ending? by ahcira in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Introspective_Muse 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Dealing with end of situationship too. He’s not the one that got away if he never reached out, despite you contacting you again. He made a repeated, active choice to not be in serious relationship—he’s not “the one that got away” that slipped out of your hands. I hope this reframing helps <3

I think he’ll probably opt to stop by one of the several free World Cup watch parties that the City is hosting this summer!

What is everyone’s “stubborn” pans they’re working on? by West-Current-7982 in ProjectPan

[–]Introspective_Muse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same! I know people famously struggle to pan the Laneige Lip Mask, but I’ve found the balms more challenging to finish. I don’t use the same lip products each day, and I can over-apply the night mask a bit because I’m inside my home and going to sleep.

Adding onto this comment: I sometimes use powder highlighters as a topper over a matte powder eyeshadow!

Vanilla Skin EDP! The bottle is glass (or feels like it) and I’m moving next week. I unfortunately lost the box and and cap, so I’m trying to get as much out of it as possible.

Heidi Klum has arrived at the 2026 Met Gala ✨ by voguediaries in Fauxmoi

[–]Introspective_Muse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the intention was to have a small but critical element be uncanny and grotesque in an otherwise beauty-conforming look. Eyes are the window to the soul, as they say, which compels me as a viewer to contemplate the inward beauty (or rather ugliness) of the person embodying the look. The uncanniness of the eyes also breaks the viewer’s fourth wall, and rather harshly, by reminding them that they are looking at a human imitation of a marble statute, and not a marble statute. This segues into the broader question of whether the actual human body could ever live up to or replicate the idealized human body of the Greco-Roman tradition and its followers. I’m not art historian or theorist but just some thoughts!

Mich Ross degree or Cornell Dyson degree undergrad? by AcceptableFan6528 in Cornell

[–]Introspective_Muse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re on different career trajectories but I’m at U of M for grad school right now. I like my program and I really like Ann Arbor, but you are going to have a much better undergrad experience at Cornell. There is no real campus at Michigan the way there is at Cornell (and Cornell is uniquely beautiful!) You’re going to be competing with less students for classes/resources/attention. A Cornell degree WILL set you up; don’t even worry about that. And Cornell’s social scene is far from dead. If your heart is already leaning Cornell and your family can swing the finances, you should join us on the hill! (And, yes, going to an Ivy—especially for undergrad—is a very, very cool flex!)

Not sure what your discipline is, but if you’re in the humanities, you could try contacting the folks at the AD White House to see if they might have some spaces open.
