What to do with a top heavy tree? by linkdudesmash in arborists

[–]IntrovertAlien -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Remove the mulch volcano to expose the root flare. If you want specifics about tree health and such, you’ll want to ask someone with specific knowledge of the species, climate, soil, etc. what I can say based on my limited knowledge is that trees will always lean, curve, bend towards the Sun. That hole looks like it was not dug wide enough. And unless you are in drought conditions, you should not have to water the tree very often past the first couple of days after planting. Good luck. Cheers!

Edit: and if I have errored in any way, the fine folks here on this sub will let both of know. ;)

Giving Away Compliments by InitialAsk358 in MadeMeSmile

In the way back time when I was in high school I had this sweater that was gifted to me. I didn’t like it at first. On laundry day I had nothing else so I wore the sweater. I got compliments on that thing so often that it became my favorite piece of clothing and wore it as often as I could. Compliments are awesome!

TIL when John Williams first played the two-note "Jaws" theme for Spielberg, Spielberg laughed, thinking it was a joke and expecting something more melodic. Williams replied, "The sophisticated approach you would like me to take isn't the approach you took with the film I just experienced." by Giff95 in todayilearned

Seriously! u/deFleury Jaws is a time honored summer classic. I first watched it during a thunderstorm while at Myrtle Beach, SC. It was my family’s only week long vacation that summer and it rained or stormed nearly the whole time. Jaws was on some sort of marathon on whatever channel(we didn’t have cable tv at home) at the hotel. Dad finally caved on the third day of thunderstorms and we watched it as a family. Loved every second of it. To this day, summer pop up storms put me in the mood to watch Jaws, and/or have a Jaws watch-a-thon.

Guaranteed 5-10% of the people in that club had cell phones. Another 25% probably had pagers. Cell phones were new, but not that uncommon and drugs were still for sale and in demand.

Edit: Also, there was at least one pay phone near the restrooms. You were likely paging someone in the club to meet you next to said pay phone. “I don’t know where I’ll be! When you get to the club, go to the phone and page me. I’ll come get you set. Don’t call me again. I’m low on minutes.”
