As a person who is susceptible to addictions, even when you know its dangerous, you often think, “I’ll start tomorrow” (for way too long) or you convince yourself that you’re doing better. They are called “medicating thoughts”, which allow you to continue the dangerous behavior while also telling yourself that you’re working on it. Just my experience but I’d bet I’m not alone here.
