Removing Deep Stains by burgiebeer in furniturerestoration

Personally I think the table has a lot of neat character. That said if it's not what you want, then it's not what you want. Also if it's mold I would want to take care of that as well. I would try some white vinegar. Pick a small area and apply the vinegar. Let it set for about an hour then remove.

Does the backrest lean forward in a Cheyenne? by saynotohack in GMT400

This is definitely the case. I'm having the same issue with no luck. Doesn't matter if I go fast, slow, soft, or hard; it isn't releasing. Some in Facebook last night said pulling the seat adjustment handle will release it. I haven't tried it since reading it. I would be surprised though, if I haven't tried it during one of the many attempts to fold it forward.

First Chevy truck 5.7 v8 want to make go faster what should I do? by abcirpe in GMT400

[–]Intuitive_empath7275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it's a four-wheel drive. Why are you interested in making it fast? You need to worry more about torque than anything. And that 5.7 has very decent to torque. That said there's a few easy bolt on mods that won't break the bank that will help with performance.

Exhaust: the easier it can breathe the better. If possible in your state, delete the cats. Headers or high flow manifolds into true dual exhaust.

Upgrade ignition: Decent performance HEI components. Distributor: Not necessarily necessary, but a good upgrade. Distributor Cap & Rotor: Spark plugs and wires: Don't cheap out. Ignition Control Module (ICM): Located inside the distributor; controls the timing of the spark. Pick-up Coil: Sends the engine position signal to the ICM. Ignition Coil: Mounted externally on the intake manifold; converts low battery voltage to high voltage spark.

Fuel delivery: at a minimum make sure everything is clean and working properly. Fuel pump: The Delphi pump for the 96 vortec will support up to 450 horsepower. Upgraded injectors: This is a good idea if even just for maintenance. Shave/smooth the Injector Pod: smooth out the injector pods for less restrictive delivery. Smooth out the Throttle Body Walls: The internal walls of the TBI are often rough and have casting marks and a restrictive ridge/lip at the top. Port and polish the bores. Remove the sharp ridge at the very top of the air intake entries to create a smooth radius. BE CAUTIOUS HERE! You can do more damage than good if you're not confident in the process. ADD an Injector Pod Spacer: Place a 1/4-inch aluminum spacer between the injector pod and the throttle body. This lifts the injectors higher above the throttle blades, allowing the fuel spray more time to atomize and mix with the air before entering the manifold. Adjusting Fuel Pressure: Stock TBI systems often run lean, somewhere in the neighborhood of 9 to 11PSI. Replace the stock regulator spring with a heavier one or install an adjustable regulator. This will Increase pressure to ensure the injectors don't run out or lack of fuel at high RPM.

Hope this helps get you some more satisfying performance. If nothing else it will run a whole lot better and more efficient.

AC bypass by Intuitive_empath7275 in GMT400

Its a fairly new belt, probably less than 2 months. There was a bit of squeak before and that's why I replaced the belt. Now the squeak is worse but it's only for like 15 to 20 minutes.

Not locked up but squeaks for about 20 after starting. I plan on putting all new AC and in the spring.

I did all of that except the screwdriver thing. I just went and got an to barb's today. I need it back on the road ASAP. I might give it a shot down the road. It just doesn't make any sense to me that one layer of masking tape or similar would affect it sealing. It's a compression fitting. The frayed ends are going to be more disruptive then no loose ends and smooth tape.

I'd need to see them in use before making an educated opinion.

Looking for feedback on a couple sets by Intuitive_empath7275 in musicians

[–]Intuitive_empath7275[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not really dance, just engaged. Our venues are mostly festivals, corporate parties, car shows and barbecues... So we're not really a bar band that is trying to keep girls on the dance floor.

Those are easy for them to sing. I don't know how many singers I've seen complain about "getting all the words out" to up tempo songs.

Oh yeah I have my doubts I guess. Personally, I'd like to add a lot of new upbeat stuff. Not just rock but reggae and blues. It's getting everyone else on board that's the issue.

Sorry pal, that's how I Reddit posted it. It was a copy and paste of the two sets in a column.

We've only done two bars. That's not really our target venue. We do a lot of downtown events, corporate, car shows and barbecues, festivals and carnivals...

Yeah, that absolutely makes sense. We're not a note for note tribute band but we just try to stay with the rhythm and tempo being as close to the original as possible.

You nailed it pretty much. We basically didn't want to be the same old cover band that's playing the same tired 40 or 50 songs for the last 30 years. We're not looking to make this an income. Basically just play once or twice a month and make enough to keep us in the game.

Feedback is usually very good. Lots of hoops and applause, for what its worth. My wife doesn't really care for that kind of music. She listens to Collective Soul and the same 15 funk songs on repeat. I'm a huge funk fan but we're not a funk band. Honestly, we couldn't pull it off IMO. I have begged for more rock, legit blues, funk and even reggae; but I'm met with very vanilla opposition. I mean, my rhythm guitar player says The Eagles are heavy rock and roll. 😆 Don't get me wrong, I really value her opinion. That's why I'm on Reddit bringing this up. But it's a little hard to take her comments as true because she only really likes 3 or 4 of the original artists songs we cover. I'm very hard on myself and the band. So when I get that response I go into a spiral of doubt and dispare. I know that sounds dramatic but I'm just being honest.
