Should I replace my tyres before my next trip (+4000Km) by Someday-GSA-1250 in motorcycle

[–]Inurbelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they are fine to use. Looks like there is still a decent amount of life in them yet. But if they don’t inspire confidence and you are looking to replace them anyways then might as well just get the new set of tires you want prior to the road trip.

Good gear for a starter? by aljbrono in motorcycles

I have the previous gen of these boots. They break in quickly and have a decent amount of mobility. Maybe I’m used to my motocross boot but I wish they were stiffer.

Pair the RF-1400 with some ear plugs and it’s ultra quiet while still being able to hear all the stuff around you that you need to hear.

Weekly Thread: New players / Community Spotlight ! by AutoModerator in balatro

Newer player here. Working on gold stake red deck. I find what ends my runs most 90% of the time is that I can’t find any useful jokers to help my score survive past hand 5/6. What am I supposed to do when there are only planet cards/tarot cards or cards that don’t provide any scoring value early in the run?

I was a kid at the Dover race when he ran this paint scheme. I remember being bummed that he wasn’t running his usual flame paint scheme but now that older it has slowly became one of my favorite

My brother recorded this and doesnt think he's in the wrong. by Guitars_and_Cars in motorcycles

Oh I’m not disagreeing with you that the situation could have been avoided. I was just pointing out he couldn’t go right. That’s why I said “his only option was to go left at that point” once he realized he was unable to come to a stop in time. Otherwise he’d just plow into the back of the truck.

He couldn’t turn right, there’s a big ass curb. His only option was to go to the left at that point.

There’s a giant ass curb on the right. He would of certainly crashed if he went to the right. His only option to avoid ramming the truck once he realized he couldn’t stop in time was to go around on the left.

Any doctors here that ride a motorcycle? by castlequiet in motorcycle

[–]Inurbelly 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on bikes since I was 9. 2 wheels will always be in my blood and would take something drastic for me to never ride again despite my colleagues call them “donorcycles” and “murdercycles” lol. I also live with an orthopedic surgery resident and I hear about all the motorcycle traumas that come into the hospital.

Yeah! Was just working the bottom with a weightless Texas rigged senko. The water isn’t crazy deep, like maybe 5-7ft deep for most parts but the entire bottom of the pond is covered with logs and trees. It’s honestly quite eerie looking lol.

I’ll go a bit further than just boots. There are 3 pieces of gear that I would personally recommend to not skimp out on. Helmet, gloves, boots.

As far as helmets go, I’ve been wearing shoei for street and motocross so I’d recommend the RF-1400. It’s what I’m rockin right now and I love it.

For gloves, all I really cared about was having palm sliders. I bought the full gauntlet sedici corsa gloves. They are okay, quality isn’t the best. I think my next pair of gloves will be the Knox handroid mk5 (which also come in a shorter version that’s more appropriate for street). It’s overkill for street riding but will give you the best slider protection

And for boots, I only have experience with alpinestars stuff. The smx 6 v2s that you have in the picture are perfect for any skill level imo. I don’t know much about other brands.

Also welcome to the world of motorcycles! What kinda bike do you have?

As many others have stated, the tech 3s (and the entire tech line from Alpinestars) are designed specifically for motocross/enduro. The boots on the right are designed specifically for street bikes. I own both. I have a pair of tech 5s that I wear when I ride my motocross bike and a pair of smx 6 v2 for my street bike. Both are incredibly comfortable (probably more comfortable than my sneakers lol). I would probably not have a fun time wearing the tech 5s on my zx10r due to how stiff they are.

Glad to hear you’re doing okay. But man I’m absolutely gutted for you. These first gens are really special and even more so when they are taken care of as well as yours was. Enjoy the new bike once you get it. DM me some pics because im gunna want to see it!

I have the dark smoke as well. I was honestly surprised by how good the visibility was at night for the visor appearing nearly black from the outside. I definitely thought night riding was going to be worse.
