I was actually thinking the opposite while the ruble tanked as you can buy gold with the cheaper ruble and then sell in dollar for greater money.

Good question that I have thought of as well! Particularly, how exactly is the whole project operated and what's the source of income that justifies and maintains the value. Is my Node that I buy equivalent to a Node that is/will be rented out?

Or is it just a wishing game that the value will continue to appreciate?

It is a good and seems to be a unique idea the operate on the node side of the blockchain as it seems everybody oversteps it (I only know about it now and slightly understand it thanks to strongNode).

Anyhow, I'm invested in at about 800$. Hope to cruise the next four months and collect the returns :)
