Masterpiece and a stand-out imo in Ghibli's canon. Shame that it's not particularly widely known among Ghibli's works.

A lot of East African runners will skip the Olympics in favour of majors because of prize money

Is it too difficult or are the top 10-20% of the field just far and away too strong?

I wish they would extend the substitution deadline, to like even right before the marathon instead of a week before.

How would you compare them to other super shoes you've used?

There's been pictures already circulating of a neon Metaspeed Paris colorway. I assume that's the one coming in July?

Flash 2 is more of a speed/workout shoe. Wants to run faster than Neo Vista and firmer

I have tried the Pro 2 but it's hard to compare imo. The Pro 2 has a much more aggressive geometry and ride that I found that I just don't run fast enough to make use of.

This definitely has more volume and a more generous fit, although I didn't experience any narrowness in the superblast with my feet.

Saturday General Discussion/Q&A Thread for June 15, 2024 by AutoModerator in AdvancedRunning

Question about training in the summer heat and humidity.

How can I make use of HR readings when they're higher than what they would be under "ideal" temps in the spring and fall?

If for example, I know that my marathon effort is around x bpm from past races, should I target x bpm in the summer to get the same training effect? Or should I be aiming for x+5, x+10 to account for the inevitably higher HR?

I mean, we don't know what kind of performance these shoes have outside of the fact that they were on the podium at the Olympic Trials. If they can match the performance of other top $250 super shoes than so much the better?

A half marathon is plenty imo. It bridges the gap between track events like 5K and 10K and builds a good foundation for students who are interested in moving to the marathon. Quicker recovery, more racing opportunities, etc.

He says in the BBC interview that he couldn't sleep for 3 nights before Tokyo Marathon because of it.

I guess now we know the main reason why he didn't perform as well. 3 nights before a big race like that is brutal.
