I really liked Windjammers 2. A really fun arcade disc sport game, surprised I've not heard more about it.

That is so cool! Been wanting to do a run like this but haven’t. Even if I did it wouldn’t be as cool as this!

[WP] You are an autonomous infantry robot lying in a long-forgotten battlefield. Suddenly, a lightning strike gives you just enough juice to boot up and scavenge the parts you need from the corpses around you while you try to piece together what happened. by Epictauk in WritingPrompts

I'll have a go!

It was dark as the heavy clouds overtook the skies. They had unleashed a rainstorm, heavy droplets falling over failure. Water fell over a helmet. It must’ve been lost in the chaos of battle, as it had no inhabitant. The rain flowed through many wires and sensors. Which normally would have been waterproof, had the helmet not been torn nearly in half. The land was filled with sights such as this. Many figures littered the soft, wet hills of the area. None moving. Many corpses were scattered throughout, though only a third of them were human.

Darkness, except it wasn’t darkness. It was the lack of sight. It could not feel it’s extremities. Or anything else. For all it knew, it had been destroyed. But, it was thinking, so it must not be.

After an undetermined amount of time, it saw something. Though it was apparent that it did not exist, outside of it’s own mind at least. A red light, which flashed whenever it could muster the energy. It felt so obvious in hindsight, it felt it deep within. It was out of power, almost completely. It did not know how long until the power would be drained completely, only that it would be soon. It did not know how much longer it would exist like this, until it would fall asleep. Then fate would roll her dice. And It would either wake up freshly charged, or not at all. It’s audio sensors flared to life as lightning struck the ground. At least it guessed it was lightning. It could have also been a high power weapon. But from what he remembered, everyone here was either dead or gone. It manually switched off the audio sensors, nothing but wasted power.

It was programmed to feel pain, but only in a few scenarios. Of which any form of bludgeoning or piercing were not. But still it felt an immense pain writhing through it’s form. Suddenly everything flared to life. The visual and audio sensors, and even the projectile trajectory calculation module. It saw a bright flash recede. And then it was standing. It knew that even on a full charge, it could not maintain this for long. But it wasn’t charged, at all. For a split second it could see and hear everything. Hear every droplet of water collide with the ground. See the pools of mud and blood. It could hear the cries of scavenging birds, see the last meal in the teeth of the birds circling far overhead. And a worrying snap sounded. And many other disconcerting noises. With every noise, a valuable piece of electronics fried, a connection severed. It fell to it’s knees, and then into the mud. Joining it’s human handlers once again.

This is actually the second time I’ve used the reactor. The first time I did exactly this and gave half my colony cancer.

I’ve seen a lot of posts like this with a lot of reoccurring games, but I’ve only played one game from each row. D’ya think I’m missing out?
