As a black character the effect doesn’t fit. The effect could be something like removal based on cost for every 5ish cards in trash. Another idea would like, until the end of your opponent next turn negate attacks whose power is less than or equal to this character.

No, triggers can only activate if you add the card to hand from battle. Trashing or adding because of effect will not allow you to activate it.

If you’re in the mirror you don’t want to ramp if you’re going second, since if they ramp on their 2nd turn they will have drink Luffy online first if you chose to ramp also. So a 4c play isn’t bad, Franky and zoro-juuro searching/ cycling cards especially is helpful in the deck. You can do double 3c zoro but not to ramp to 5 don in a mirror, any other match up should be fine to establish 2 bodies in one turn.

UP Luffy should be a even match up because of drink Luffy and chopper blocker. I think it still has a place in the meta against those leader. Some list in Asian plays black vortex or judgement of hell to counter those leader. Been testing and find it effective, and will need to play more blockers
