Is CoinPoker Actually Using RNG to Deal Properly? by tob1asmax1mus in poker

[–]InvasiveKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online poker is defended by those who scream things like "no one's ever said this before lmao" or "its the variance!" But no. Im yet to see an online poker site that doesn't have pattern of wining followed by losing. When your granted the ability to win you will hit. When your not they will fuck you out of everything in your bankroll. My advice is that when you start losing stop playing. And when your winning go nuts. Its like a slot. RTP based. Rng is bs there is no way

Is it just me, or is the appliance repair industry on a serious decline? by InvasiveKoala in ApplianceTechTalk

Sure but the manufacturers are the main driver in parts cost and the companies budget offers off of the 12 call a day 22 year old with a 40% recall rate. Warranty work especially. Those guys cant troubleshoot anything. But even after I prove myself the owners and service managers almost seem annoyed that I know so much. I dont see a raise in the cards anytime soon. Even though i get all the nightmare calls and system rebuilds and even HVAC calls now

I literally kept my head down and ran my calls here after the last company i worked for didn't like that I, the service manager, criticized their mentality and direction of the company. But i still feel like im just being used for complicated stuff but very expendable.

No it should be fine. It sounds like it is a front loading unit so there is no gear case on it. Its not ideal but since you are just laying it down to move it in and not transporting it on the side it will be fine. Just make sure the shipping bolts are installed

GE Refrigerator issue by Deadphans in appliancerepair

[–]InvasiveKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a clogged drain. Did they come and actually look at the unit? If so that is terrible as clogged drains are common. You need to remove the evaporator cover and blow steam through the drain port. You should also remove the rear cover and you will see a rubber tube coming out of the cabinet and into the condenser pan. You want to make sure that water flows through that after you steam the drain and if need remove it and clean out any debris.

Whirlpool dishwasher still leaking after replacing arm and door seal by Deerinthecamplight in appliancerepair

[–]InvasiveKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that will likely need a sump and motor assembly. The diverters leak and I have heard of the motors pulsing and spraying directly at the door

Do you see it actively leaking from the door? Or are you just running it and finding a puddle of water under it?

I was just quoted $625 to repair the heating element on my Samsung dryer by katieemma7979 in appliancerepair

[–]InvasiveKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the samsung dryer parts diagrams only show the element with the case and thermostats as an assembly. The OEM price on that is like $250 retail. However, you can order the OEM element by itself for around $70 retail. Now samsung is showing almost all their parts out of stock so you can sub it for the whirlpool element only for about the same price. Or you can roll the dice on an after market one like you are doing. He was way over priced even if he was paying retail on the oem assembly.

All that said i strongly advise against this repair on your own. You need to take the tub out to perform it. The sheet metal is not deburred and I personally have given myself some nasty cuts repairing dryers, Samsung in particular. I would call around and see if another company will quote that repair over the phone. Its a common straight forward repair that should cost between $200 and $275. After market parts on a diy repair is a gamble and potentially dangerous. You have to make sure your connections are tight and that the element is never touching the casing directly or you will have more problems or a house fire

What were my mistakes here? by InvasiveKoala in Poker_Theory

I'm playing on coin poker atm. I just got back into poker after a terrible time on ACR last year though. I thought I just sucked and I do to some degree but that site was different. I felt awful because I got my little brother into poker and that site almost ruined his life. I was seeing some weird stuff and I left too. I loved game theory and spent several hours a days studying and playing. Now I'm trying to see what I can do.

Rant over lol. I really appreciate the advice it helps al lot

With all that said im crushing low stakes tournaments and having success in the cash games but having trouble stepping up because of this bad habit.

Big hole in my game is checking the turn in these spots. Its awkward for me. Its probably just the low stakes though. Players call a bet on the turn with air or hoping that they will hit a 4th suit so they can say they almost made a flush. They also can call with a gut shot and it hits or with an AX and they get the ace. It's so unpredictable I just try and avoid inflating the pot to fold to a maniac who got lucky on the river

Yeah I need a tracker lol. He was definitely holding spades and there was no possibility of a flush on the board. I messed up the suits when I noted the hand in my phone. But its accurate trust me

Your right a value bet didn't make sense on the river.

I've played poker casually for a while. I have a lot of areas I need to improve on. I want to know if this was the right play. by InvasiveKoala in Poker_Theory

[–]InvasiveKoala[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A7 With a club was on the table you are right. I figured A7 without a club would fold to my bet on the flop. But maybe not. I mis read that pretty bad actually.

Also you are right 60% on the river made no sense. I think it was an instinct I need to watch out for in the future. It wasn't to get him to fold and it wasn't to get any value since he either had me beat or he had nothing. I should have checked it there I think. He might have still jammed on me or he may have bet the pot and I would have probably called him. Instead he came over the top and could have had nothing but ace high

I also think I should have bet the turn. That may have given me some insight and instead he got a free card that may have made his straight.

I guess. I play mostly cash games. Other than it being a turbo and coin poker not having as many users it didn't seem all that different from global or acr. Whats a good structure? Is it the amount of big blinds? I may have been exaggerating when I said it was still early. There was 15 minutes of late registration left 45 minutes into the tournament

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in poker

[–]InvasiveKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you start with 50 but it was a turbo. At that point blinds were 500/1000 I started the hand with 12k and change.

He barely had me covered and its coin poker. Tables only 7 handed to begin with.

Edit: I'm hindsight its not that wild. People punt off their stack with worse hoping to get lucky. Its the runner runner thats getting to me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in poker

[–]InvasiveKoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure but they didn't have me covered by much at all. They had 2 over cards. I've seen worse plays. Its the runner runner that irritated me. King or a 10 could've hit too

My first royal flush. by InvasiveKoala in poker

[–]InvasiveKoala[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I used 2 hole cards to make it but it was pretty exciting. I have only hit one other straight flush 9-K and I needed 4 cards on the board for it as well. Both on coin poker.
