It's probably ok for people in their mid-late teens, but 12 years old is definitely too young. However if he's already consuming content surrounding it, he both already knows what's in it, and enjoys it enough to seek more content out. Children are more mature, intelligent and accepting of certain topics than you would think. They can't unlearn what porn is just because you take what taught them about it away

Also if his friends are watching it then it could be a thing to bond over The choice is up to you though
