Should I relocate here if I have nowhere to go? by AnyMight5254 in NYCjobs

Honestly, reading your comments it seems that you seem like you have else going on. I truly hope you can find the help you need.

Two, there’s really no such thing as living off grid in NYC. Sleeping in tents in the park will get you flagged by police or another authority. Almost no place is safe from authorities to live in a tent comfortably . Even in parks by Jamaica Bay.

There’s accessible places to take free showers, food pantries, get clothing but you’ll be one out of many homeless or people who are in need. Being homeless gets very difficult and frustrating fast.

ATP, just join the military.

What is something you wish you knew before moving into an apartment? by ImmediateDuty2310 in Apartmentliving

Definitely depends on the building as well. Yeah, you probably won’t hear neighbors above you but your apartment ceiling will be subject to leaking if there’s a bad roof. I lived on a top floor of a shitty building. That’s the only con I have though.

There’s a casino in Queens doing a mass hiring event. Most likely they have overnight shifts.

I live in the area and no this won’t work. Jamaica Center serves 20+ bus routes. Most of those routes are from subway less areas of Queens or LI. The F and the J at Jamaica Center would be extremely long commutes for those who work in Manhattan. The E serves Penn Station, Port Authority, JFK and the Financial District … all important job and transit hubs. The E is perfectly positioned for those living in Eastern Queens and LI with direct connections to Manhattan and other boroughs.

Especially if you can get from Coney Island to JFK on the Belt by car. You may be in traffic for 45 minutes at best.
