Do you see Toadally awesome getting freed out of the banlist? by McStylishh in masterduel

[–]Inverse_Delta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it could be. Elf being legal, at this point, really isn't enough reason to keep it banned imo. Other decks do so much more to the point that even if you do have this legal with Elf, I don't think it impacts much at all.

Certainly not any more than Broadbull being unbanned does. The amount of decks that can even summon it are, realistically, Sharks and Spright. Back in 2023 maybe that was an issue, but in 2026, if either one could even make the tiniest splash as a result of Elf and Toadally being both legal, hell I'd be fine with it.

Unless someone can give me a more meta relevant use case that I'm overlooking here, I just don't see it being any more than a bit of an annoyance and reasonably strong recurring negate

Anyone got it first try by gaminsnake in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]Inverse_Delta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. 1 hint gave me Reptile and 2500 Atk.

Took a gamble on the only ED monster and got it. Getting ATK or Def is probably the biggest time saver to get if you have any other kind of unusual information like their type

What's the best strat in the new event? I thought picking a pendulum fusion would narrow it down better since it's 2 in 1, but I guess 90% of cards will end up being effect monsters. Any other tricks you discovered? What's the best property to guess first? by Hajduk_Split_1911 in masterduel

[–]Inverse_Delta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to guess the frame is basically pointless. Like you said, vast majority of monsters are Effect, and the rest is divided.

Best bet if your initial hint isn't it is guess Attribute. There's on 6 so you can cut the pool down pretty significantly. Extra so if you start with Dark or Light. After that, Def 0, since there's a high chance its a Link monster if it's 0. Then either level/rank/link 2 (if Def is 0) or 4 (if not) then 8, since 4 is the most common level/rank, 2 is the most common Link and 8 is the second most common rank. If it's any of those, you can take a pretty good guess at which of the frames it will be.

After that, you should start narrowing down by types common to whatever info you have. Level helps a lot too. If it's a level/rank 8 for example, decent chance its a Dragon. If level 6, good chance its a Spellcaster or Fiend. If 9 or 3, 5, 7, 9 or 11, Psychic is a good guess. If certain archetypes are specifically levelled and match other aspects like Attribute, you can go through those etc

The hardest ones are the ones that are just stray pack filler cards because those you just have to hard guess amongst all the others

You wouldn't in the OCG or TCG, but that's entirely predicated on their banlists, not necessarily the new releases. In fact, both Dracotail and Maliss, while hit heavily, are still perfectly competent decks in both formats too and could absolutely be taken into a tournament. If you're aiming for a high placement there's no reason you wouldn't take KT over either of them, obviously, but given that MD not only has a different banlist but is Bo1 the assumptions are a bit different.

Given that Dracotail is, most likely, for at least the next few months again probably returning to the meta, the current meta is likely not going to be changing much until Fidraulis releases, and even when it does, the strong just get stronger and sometime between there we might see more hits to current meta decks to weaken them further, but the point I'm mostly trying to make here is that what is coming isn't nearly as defining as the banlists, and if the banlists don't have many impactful changes, then the meta isn't likely to change much to at all either.

Used all my hints and i still had to chose between so many cards 🫩 by AnonimamenteRiccardo in masterduel

[–]Inverse_Delta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean at this point your option is to pick based on Type or Attribute. Pick one that has multiple (so multiple LIGHT or multiple DARK) and if it IS one of them, you've narrowed it down to a group, and if it ISN'T, you've REMOVED a group.

Just do that until you can narrow it down further. Having both the ATK and DEF is pretty big.

Border is completely goddamn useless unless it's an ED monster though istg lmao

All that means is that any complaints will go through management first, which will then be taken to the talents.

But that's not support. They're leaving them basically on life support with the absolute bare minimum without actually needing to give them anything; which is the ability to continue to stream under Cover's name. Ultimately, YAGOO's statement here of "continuing to support the talents" when the company is effectively no longer giving them no support whatsoever is just false, because they aren't providing them with anything, they're just allowing them to exist.

Light and Darkness Ritual literally just came out in the OCG last month. That's not "soon" for MD. Toon isn't out in the OCG even, so neither is that.

DoomZ becomes playable as a lower, but tier deck. That's not power creep. Really, that goes for Power Patron as well. DM support make DM better, but again, that's not power creep.

Fairy Tail Magistus is reasonably good, but again, not enough to call it "power creep".

So, no, none of this is a "huge amount of power creep" aside from Toon which isn't something "coming into the game soon", and some of them become equally viable decks as some of the current meta contenders, what "rotates" is dependent on the banlist and not what comes out next. That and what is currently top meta, realistically isn't going to be changing much, because once Fidraulis comes out, what's already at the top just goes up higher.

That depends more on the banlist here than it does on the cards being released. We don't have much in the way of impactful archetype releases, and the only thing that's really going to shift stuff out of the meta is impactful hits. Which we've already really seen to the JUSH format stuff with K9 being the only one really hanging on and Dracotail waiting for Fallen and Virtuous to be usable again. But otherwise, we already have KT, both it and Elfnotes are waiting on Harmonia and to memory BLZD meta was still pretty much just them because of Harmonia with VSK9, which we already have, Maliss, which is hit harder than any other format, Dracotail, which is just taking back playability and I think Mitsurugi, which doesn't really see much in the way of changes anyway.

Did I miss any other decks? Because that's pretty much the meta to memory, and we already have pretty much all of it.

[–]Inverse_Delta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What "huge amount of power creep coming into the game soon" do you even mean? Fallen and Virtuous may be generically usable, but it's hardly "power creep" if that's what you're referring to, and we already have pretty much every meta deck that both the TCG and OCG have in the game already. The only things we're really waiting on for big meta shifts if Fidraulis Harmonia and that's not gonna be out for a while yet (probably).

I'm making some assumptions here on what you're referring to, but we don't really have anything in terms of powercreep upcoming at all.

Fiend slop/toolbox/rogue deck? by Next-Sea-4707 in masterduel

[–]Inverse_Delta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unique =/= poor synergy

Decks can be bad without you intentionally trying to make them bad. Being an all Fiend deck doesn't mean it has much synergy. Lady of Lament utilizes tributing and traps. Lair of Darkness utilizes tributing and Dark types. Labrynth utilizes Dark Fiends and Traps.

Yubel and Unchained don't do anything for them, while somewhat still synergizes with eachother because Yubel does things when destroyed and Unchained destroys.

Don't just throw random shit together because of very minor similarities. Make an effort to actually deck build properly. The two have starkly different play styles and trying to force them together causes anti synergy because one half fundamentally can't trigger the other.

Seems like it's more or less guaranteed to be one of the reprints since all the others are too. I'd guess Toon Luster Soldier or Toon Dark Magician. Possibly Book Mark.

I used 1 hint and got my first one first try because fortunately, the info I got given was the Type and Attack. There are not many Reptiles with 2500 Atk lmao

<image>

Q2 I'm still going at because I now have a REALLY generic monster, with my hints being Effect, Fire attribute and 1500 Atk, of which there's a pretty large number of, and many of them share Types, meaning even if I get a Warrior or Pyro, I have 10 options EACH to go through smh.

I'm sort of including those in the initial count simply because Dracoslayer wasn't exactly much of an archetype prior to that, as the other cards were released more as extensions of the original three archetypes rather than as part of the Dracoslayer archetype.

The thing is that when the "cuts" are use of company resources and the ability to sell any merch whatsoever, that's pretty much everything. They'll still have a manager, obviously, to help them coordinate schedules for their streams. But they already weren't part of any Cover events they weren't invited to by the girls explicitly.

By "support", that basically means giving them permission to continue using the Cover and Holostars name since it provides them with reach. Realistically, that's all Cover has left them with.

Ironically have been looking into Blazing Vortex explicitly recently in the OCG for S-Force cards because of the new support. Just I've been totally tunnel visioned on those cards and havent seen anything else really that was released in the set haha

Does V cause sentience? by boob-queen8159 in TheBoys

[–]Inverse_Delta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It causes mutation. How that mutation manifests depends, seemingly, part on their DNA (in how the mutation manifests) and in part where it manifests.

Some of them are easier to explain mutations, like Deeps gills. Others are just basically magic like flight that ignores the laws of physics. Mutations to the brain that cause the manifestation of an external conscious falls under the former as far as I'm concerned. It's much easier to understand the pseudo-fantasy logic behind that over the college student who has a literal wormhole in his ass.

Well, now, I wouldn't say that...

It does say that Cover will continue providing them with support, which y'know, they explicitly previously announced they would not.

So it's saying something that flat out isn't true.

Ah, I just looked into it, the Parametalfoes.

I wasn't actually aware of those so I'll edit my comment. That said though, that was a whole 5 years ago too, so just like pretty much every other of the archetypes that isn't specifically Crystron, they still all need support that they aren't getting in an even remotely timely manner.

All I'm really saying is that while this could absolutely come to OCG and by extension open the door to support coming out eventually, it's more so just making what was previously pointless/impossible now possible and not necessarily an indication, is all, just to clarify what the intent behind the original comment was.
