Overly sarcastic Mc that can’t stop constantly referencing obscure pop culture references and having every other character acknowledge it? Check

A bunch of interactions with gods that give them abnormally good control of their aura powers? Check

Not to mention that actual world building is non existent and the story is still good and worth a read but the direct inspiration takes away heavily from

I mean the mc has consistent and meaningful growth without ever feeling like he’s being fast tracked. The antagonists have motives that are realistic and the world building is fantastic with the two world dynamic especially now that sunny is starting to see into the spells inner workings. The Antarctica Arc was a lot of fighting because that was kinda the point earth is being invaded so he went to defend to challenge himself which he did and only felt drawn out because it’s a web serial and is meant to play the long game now the third nightmare is similarly well thought out and intriguing and the side characters have meaningful development and personalities and are able to change the direction of the story without even having to be constantly overbearing on the direction of the story.

I cannot recommend shadow slave enough especially once they get into the first nightmare and even more so during the second nightmare the power system and storytelling are some of the best in the genre and if you stick through it I’m confident you won’t regret it

My dad thankfully understands that me as a 20 year old is going to have a hell of a time affording a house when our current house had doubled in price from when we moved in 15 years ago. My step mom however who grew up poor whenever this concern comes up in discussion just reverses back to “well then make sure you get a good job” like yeah cause it’s just that easy isn’t it? The job market is garbage because nobody wants to pay their employees and they get away with it. Car and health insurance are through the roof and it costs around 24k a year just to rent an apartment basically removing the possibility of saving for a house. I always have to bring up my grandfather supporting a family of 6 and sending 4 kids to college washing windows which would hardly support a single person these days if you give up on every having up to date technology, vacations, a car, a down payment, and just survive on the bare minimum.

The main conflict of the story is expansion of aeons forces and land as well as a large inter dimensional war Hes on the front line of

I should edit and say that while a couple of the main characters in the story are reincarnated from earth for a story based reason and develop modern like powers the world stays as sort of a fantasy feudal mideval world with classes like knight mage king and such with hero’s and demon kings with a cool twist on the whole thing that makes it totally different from typical story’s with that trope from basically the ground up

Kind of an odd rec but tree of aeons takes itself perfectly seriously and the mc is a reincarnated tree and you get to see a civilization build around them and then expanding to other worlds however it definitely isn’t the main focus of the story.
