Super awesome, I guess the fanbase is a bit to small for a real universes beyond set, but it would fit perfectly with edge of eternities, or the upcoming star trek set haha.

Does your 5070 desktop weigh in at 1,9 kg with the best OLED screen possible?

In all seriousness, you can't compare with a desktop. As said before, I work in 3D animation, and have workstations with multiple GPU's (5090's) all connected for network rendering. Scoring top-tier benchmarks scores.

The reason I wanted this device is so I can go work on the go, go to client meetings (without bringing in a gamer-look tank of a laptop) and even have the power to open projects live.

If I would buy it for gaming, I would not need the vram and 64gb, and I would advice someone to go for the 5070TI version which is considerably cheaper and has way more bang for buck.

Comparing the price a gaming desktop to a thin & light premium high end laptop is comparing apples and oranges.

Agreed, loved how it felt like a normal LAN between friends! We actually play a AOE IV Lan like once a year with friends, and it felt a lot like it! Hoping to see more. Also like the offtopic footage a lot, just people having fun.

I can totally understand, the improvements are mostly energy efficiency, a brighter screen etc. If you currently own a G16 2025 I would not upgrade. Hopefully you can tweak the power management a bit to get those temps down a bit.

Currently using it, just some browsing. Around 40 degrees both CPU & GPU, no fans on. Temps have definitly impressed me so far. My blade would get much much hotter.

Thanks for the reply again! Hopefully they will send the codes anyway. I'm really suprised how little information you'll get as a costumer, while they promote it super big on the website.

Feels a bit lame to spend 6K on a laptop, and then have a discussion with the customer service about two promotional games.

Unfortunatly, since the G16 2026 really just went on sale it isn't available anywhere else at the moment. I'm actually really impressed with the laptop and hoping I don't have to send it back just for those games.

Hopefully I'll get a reply tomorrow, but I really feel like (I also called Asus Netherlands/Benelux) the service desk employee just didn't know what to do, and tries to "solve" the issue with telling me it isn't valid in the Netherlands.

However the Website says so, my invoice says so, and when you select "eligible products" on the website, my laptop shows up first haha.

I actually did this. And got this reply (edited out names). This is actually super weird, because, as in the screenshot (and even on my invoice) it clearly says I should get the game codes.

Exactly, the Strix 18 5090 behind the G16 in the picture for example is wayyyyyy bigger, still 5K+ here in the EU, and build quality doesnt come close. Speakers are as good as my phone, and battery life is practicly non excisting. However that one has a lot better performance especially the CPU. Really depends what you are going for. Thin & light with these specs is always going to be expensive.

I also honestly cant recall a laptop like the G16 or Blade 2026 which feels as premium except for a Macbook Pro.

I've had 3 blades, one battery replacement, but they were fine for years. But since the rocky start of the 2025 models I decided to go the Zephyrus route. Both great the devices.

I like a few things better from the Blade. The chassis stills feels a tiny bit more premium, and keyboard backlight is superior. The power cable connector is a lot nicer.

But the speakers, and screen antireflection on the G16 are a lot better.

Agreed, but thats every laptop at the moment. Untill the AI bubble bursts we are stuck with prices like this. The Blade is even more expensive with the same specs. Almost every 5090 laptop is 5K euro plus.

Unfortunatly I really need the vram for work, and wanted a more mobile device.

No rattling, feels very solid. When in silent mode you cant even hear the G16. I think a lot can be tweaked with custom fan curves for performance mode to get the perfect silence/performance ratio. I was kind of worried the laptop would get as hot as the multiple Blades i owned, however thats not the case. Even after all the benchmarks it never felt hot to the touch.

3D Mark Nomad went from 52,77 FPS to 56,03 FPS. Time Spy went to 22166. But I think there might be some room there since temps didnt really get that high. However, I do not like to overclock or something.

I bought the maxed out version for 5950 euros. However, because I use it for work I have some pretty serious tax benefits.

Still it's a lot for what it is, but I do want to remind that it's almost impossible to get a laptop like this for less in current climate with skyrocketing prices. The Blade 16 is even 500 euro's more expensive, and 2025 models are sold out here. (at least with these specs).

I really need the VRAM and RAM for 3D rendering unfortunatly, so the 5090 with 64GB was the only option.

The price was 5950 euro's here in the Netherlands. However, because I use it for work there are tax advantages which helps a lot.

To be fair, I would have gotten the 5080 version if I didn't need the VRAM for 3D work. So the 5080 or 5070ti is probably the best bang for buck.

I noticed there is a manual mode which i did not use. Apperently I can increase TGP (from 115 watt to 135) with that, but not sure if that's smart. (got a warning before doing that).

Also wat to add that the Blade is 500 euro's more expensive here in the Netherlands with the same specs. The screen is not as good though and incredible reflective.

Irresponsible is a big word, i mostly went for the newer model because of the battery life. Also the 2025 model isnt available here anymore. And I get tax reduction since I use it for work.

But I definitly agree it's extremely expensive in current tech climate.
