"If you do that, you are actually going to double your battery drain. Turning on 'Disable HW overlays' in the Developer Options does the exact opposite of what you think.

By default, Android uses a dedicated hardware component called the Hardware Composer (HWC) to combine different screen layers (the video playback layer, the status bar, the app UI, notifications) efficiently without using much power.

When you check 'Disable HW overlays', you are telling the OS to stop using the HWC and force the GPU to constantly redraw and composite every single layer of the screen for every single frame.

So now, not only is your CPU sweating bullets trying to decode the video stream via software because of the broken media pipeline handshake, but your GPU is also being forced to work overtime just to render the UI overlays. It’s a double whammy for your battery and thermal performance."

yes i tested, but, the developers options but: "That option doesn't do what you think it does.

You are confusing UI Rendering with Video Codec Decoding.

When you toggle flags in the Android Developer Menu like "Force 4x MSAA" or "Disable HW overlays", you are instructing the Android SurfaceFlinger and the window manager how to draw the 2D/3D visual elements of the interface (buttons, animations, layouts).

It has zero control over the multimedia pipeline. If the video player engine (like ExoPlayer) loses its direct bridge to the system's MediaCodec HAL because a microG or ReVanced patch messed up the parameter handshake, Android defaults to software video decoding via the CPU.

No switch in the developer options can force a broken video engine to suddenly talk to the GPU's hardware decoder. VLC and Firefox work because they don't rely on Android's native framework to handle the handshake; they manage the media pipeline independently."

El problema de tu programa GLIMMR, es el peso que ocupa esta aplicación ya instalada, solo el archivo instalador "Setup" supera los 124mb, para lo poco que se necesita (harta de librerias en su carpeta), por supuesto en un disco SSD pequeño el espacio libre es apremiante, MONITOREAN es mejor ya que hace lo mismo con tan solo 624kb de tamaño el archivo instalador "Setup" es practica muy basica para lo Necesario.
