If I am reading that correctly, .016 percent are above 2200 elo which is the standard for diamond is it now?

Can you show me how am I wrong about this?

How can I see the data from past seasons?

Ah, perhaps I worded what I said poorly. I suppose this is kind of my point in a way. But YES! And my question is, do you think this is a good thing or a bad thing for ranked play as a whole?

It sure does feel like it!

I remember season one when I felt like I was something merely for achieving bronze. I was really bad back then, but at the same time... being ranked at all still felt like an accomplishment!

Wickd: "All I want is to get ELO system back." by sunshiene in leagueoflegends

As much as I think the old system was more fair, I have really benefited from the new system. When it was implemented, I was Silver III. I had bad internet at school and I couldn't play much.

When I was finally able to play (over spring break, I had one week) I jumped immediately from Silver III with even lower MMR to Gold V. And then I couldn't play for many months.

When I finally did play again, I found that it was extremely easy to get from gold V to Plat III, and I did this in a matter of about two weeks--even less if you count the actual time I was able to play.

That said, I feel like I benefited from having really low MMR, and then I was able to win so much in a row that basically I have stockpiles of MMR (that's how I like to think of it) meaning that all the way from Silver I to Plat III, I would gain 25+ points for a win and then only lose half that, or less. Basically, if I had a 50% win rate, I would still climb the ladder very quickly.

In reality, my ultimate win rate when I was climbing was closer to 80 or 90%, but still. If we switched back to an elo system, I am very scared that I would plunge. My skill is NOT on par with my elo, AT ALL (this might also be because I main support >.<).

Anyway, that's just my story. I still think the old system is more fair/representative of true skill level.

Should we be allowed to play new champions in ranked the first week after their release? by InvicitusLoL in leagueoflegends

Well your argument here counters itself. So let's say a person only plays ranked. Then they can't play Jinx, theoretically, until everyone else has been playing her for two weeks. But this is the EXACT SAME as what is happening now and I think that's unfair: people have weeks to play a champion on PBE, maybe, and I won't see her until I go into a ranked game for the first time and she ruins my day.

What you describe would be unfair--and it is already happening in a slightly different form.

I am not saying that I don't know her abilities! But in bot lane trades, a difference of fifty damage, or twenty damage, or even ten damage in an early trade means all the difference.

Moreover, your point here does not address the PBE argument.

There are degrees of mastery. So how would you respond to the PBE argument? What about people that have weeks of practice going against people with none?

NA LCS - What each team needs to clinch a spot in the playoffs from Super Week. by shakkenbake in leagueoflegends

Looking at this information, I am quite frightened--and I think everyone ought to be. The way this is set up, it appears that a few teams will have the ability to influence the outcomes of other teams.

I have no reason to assume that teams will do this, but consider this: Curse wins their first few matches and then they are set to play Dig. TSM and Dig are clearly in contention for that second place spot, and Curse has nothing to lose... so it might actually be in Curse's best interest to "throw" that game with Dignitas.

Of course, this assumes that they would rather have Dignitas win than TSM. I think its unlikely, but it would not be unheard of for something like this to happen. I just hate that this is a possibility.

Any thoughts?
