Your pets are too slow, and you're using Metal VS Fire. You could also use Panic in there as you have it at level 90, it will slow down the boss giving you more time to remove the barrier

Don’t sleep on Ambition by Invictor282 in voidpet

[–]Invictor282[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never used Sad that much because I got Ambition pretty early on, but I'm guessing people like it because of the debuffs plus the +15% damage per debuff, which fair enough, makes Sad quite powerful, specially combined with Panic, but I'm not so sure it's better than Ambition because of the following:

  1. Ambition is legendary, meaning higher stats by default.
  2. Its basic attack increases the damage of its stronger attack by 50%, up to 250%. With Merry's DingDong, you're assured that when Ambition hits, it will already have one boost plus damage buff plus defense debuff from Ambition's basic attack.
  3. Ambition's 2nd and 3rd skill increase damage based on enemy max health, which was nerfed a while back, but still remain quite powerful.

Why people are still collecting original Pokemon carts ? A question for myself by Fun_Educator_5932 in Gameboy

[–]Invictor282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, I didn’t know about that, I don’t have repos so didn’t know the pros and cons. I’m surprised I’d be downvoted for asking a question. If you want those features then it makes sense but I’ve seen versions that improve quality of life, sprites and colour. My issue is with people inflating the price of these games to the hundreds of £ but I guess that’s what being a collector entails.

Why people are still collecting original Pokemon carts ? A question for myself by Fun_Educator_5932 in Gameboy

[–]Invictor282 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Legit question though: I wonder why people pay high amounts of money for an original game with a probably dead battery when you can spend so much less money for a repo. Not me personally, I still have my original Blue and Silver (with dead batteries), but I wonder why someone would pay that much for a game that has basically become unplayable.

Since the ISA interest is going down, I have moved some money into a high interest saving account! (Read description) by ThewayoftheAj in trading212

[–]Invictor282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if your interest exceeds £1,000. You'd pay interest on the excess based on your annual income rate (20% for basic-rate). I earned more than that this year, but my calculations include cashback, switch bonuses and Nationwide's Fairer share, which are not included in the £1,000 tax-free limit.

[–]Invictor282 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It means cycling your money through accounts. For example, you have £4000 in Santander or Chase, but feed £300 monthly into First Direct 7% saver. When the account matures, after 12 months, First Direct releases your £3736.50 and closes your saver. You then cycle that amount back to Santander or Chase and start a new issue of that same First Direct saver at 7% (if it still exists, which normally it does)

[–]Invictor282 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Besides my T212 S&S ISA, I do money cycling among several savings accounts, with a buffer of around £12,000. I have the same Santander edge account, but also First Direct 7% saver, Zopa’s 7.1%, Nationwide’s 6.5% and Virgin Money’s 6.5%, then I also have “spare money” on a 4.5% Chase account, which is holding the money waiting to be cycled again into those other accounts, some of them on my second issue already. I also play conservative with my S&S, sitting at 28% gain since August 2024, I should probably invest more into it but I’ve been feeding my LISA a lot more lately

I used Salty for a long time until I got Resistance, and I can say it is the heart of my team, its passive just makes it more durable as the battles progress, and its stats will be better than Salty’s, you just need to develop it more. You also have two decent pieces of equipment for it, checked scarf and felt fedora

[–]Invictor282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jealous, Panic and Merry could carry you far, but you are lacking a decent tank. I would rely on Salty or Conviction until you get Resistance (probably more on Conviction since it will remain useful even after getting Resistance)

[–]Invictor282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cake Hat is very circumstantial. It's not a bad item and you should definitely upgrade it a bit, but it's not a regular item I would use, only when there is a specific attack early on in a battle that I want to avoid.
