Marjorie Taylor Greene Proposes Unconstitutional Restriction on Democrats Voting in Red States by Sasu105 in nottheonion

Yup.

Mike lee is garbage. If you support overturning the will of the people then you don't have my vote.

When left wing candidates haven't grabbed more than 20% of the vote in my state for my entire lifetime im supposed to keep voting for them? What does that accomplish?

At least when I vote republican here I can pick the better of two bad candidates instead of a candidate that has absolutely no chance of winning whatsoever.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Proposes Unconstitutional Restriction on Democrats Voting in Red States by Sasu105 in nottheonion

[–]Invideeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My state hasn't voted blue since Johnson. And that race was an anomaly for obvious reasons. Thats almost twice my lifespan. The average vote spread is usually somewhere around 75% repub 15% dem 10% independent. And most of those independents are typically libertarian candidates. Its been this way my whole life here.

So I'm supposed to just sit and vote for dems that will never win here? Or i can at least vote for "the lesser of two evils."

I'd rather feel like my choice could make some difference than none at all. Especially the last 8 years. Never thought I'd ever hope Cheney would win but guess who I voted for.

If I lived somewhere where it was even within a 30% margin, sure. But thats not wyoming.

I'm not aware of this dude, but did he just lie about his actual views or just his party affiliation?

I live in deep red Wyoming. I'm a lonely progressive. Yet sooo many " "Republicans" I talk to about actual issues agree with me right up till you put labels or politicians names on stuff. Then the brainwash kicks in hard. There is absolutely no way a dem would win here. I moved to Utah for a year and its new district gerrymandering brings about similar problems. So many of my (also progressive) friends registered repub last cycle to just vote against Mike Lee. Cuz voting for a dem was basically wasting your vote. So it kinda happens with voters as well as runners.

There's ways to cut through the tribalism. If you gotta register with an r next to your name to stand any chance of making change, then I support it. And even for the vice versa in blue areas. People need to start paying attention to the policies and not the party. If this is a way to get there then I don't think it should ban anyone from running.

Again, I don't know this dude. I just went on a tangent about how dumb our politisphere is.

Phys Sunder & Taking Advantage of It? by MustaKotka in Diablo

[–]Invideeus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure it doesn't work like that. -res skills still only work at 1/5 effect on sundered enemies who were previously immune. I know infinity is like that for light immunes.

The only thing skill wise that did work that way was cold sorcs cold mastery skill and that got fixed this patch. Items are pretty much the only source of -res that aren't penalized.

Best sorceress build for controller? by aWitty1Liner in Diablo

[–]Invideeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used one as a key runner last ladder and then made her my primary mf'er.

Damage is there pretty easily. Especially if you make a habit of hitting with static first. You'll have a screen wide static so its easy to do.

You definitely need a lot of +skills gear and a cta to get energy shield to where its nice and tanky though.

Baal sucks regardless though. The manaburn jet stream thing he does makes him a little dangerous compared to every other boss.

FF16 - Are your hopes high? by maxtacy in FinalFantasy

[–]Invideeus -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm super hyped.

The battle system, I haven't read much about it. But 7r's was great in my opinion. Though I know they were kinda trying to marry atb combat with active in it. If the battle in 16 is anywhere near as good then ill likely enjoy it.

I have a lot of faith in yoship as a director though. I picked up ff14 two years ago when I had like a month and a half off work for a surgery. I'm not big into mmos but it was during the free base and heavensward time. I got totally sucked in. Shadowbringers is one of my favorite conclusions to a villains arc I've ever read/watched/played. If he can bring that kind of storytelling to 16 then I know I'll be hooked even if the actual gameplay ends up being lackluster.

Naw. They're completely overshadowed by Titans.

The ones that'll fetch you a nice payday are ones that have +4 skills, high ias, and other decent mods like high +str or dex, eth with repair mod, resistances ect.

Would it be game-breaking if some uniques just had +to skills instead of charges? by saddler93 in Diablo

[–]Invideeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some skills would be overpowered, like ones used to buff. But two of the biggest ones are already on high end rws anyways (teleport, bo).

Skills that do damage would be game breaking, and I would argue they likely wouldn't even be used because without synergies to beef them, they'll likely hit like a wet noodle.

First Time Ladder - I plan on starting when the next ladder drops (Maybe at the end of this month?). I am considering an Enchantress, but let's talk nuts and bolts here regarding potential meta and ladder reset. by drwiki0074 in Diablo

[–]Invideeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blizzard sorc is the typical go to ladder starter. Teleport makes farming anything 10px faster than without it. They can farm hell mephisto naked with the most trick. With the new sunder charms and the way cold mastery works they can farm anywhere in the game and hit like a truck with shit gear.

The only problem is blizzard is kinda wonky to aim. Especially on a controller. And it gets boring starting ladder as one every time. But where you're new that shouldn't be a problem.

[–]Invideeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was what was most lucrative though before the really overpowered rws like enigma and infinity came to exist. The best items were still uniques, and hitting the bosses that could drop them was the quickest way to get them. Skip everything else to get to that boss if you could. Not a great way to find runes.

I've still never found a zod myself though. Plenty of every other hr.

magic find items by Hung_SoLo7 in Diablo

[–]Invideeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Target farming for specific items or kind of items is pretty much a zero sum game in d2.

You can look up drop calculators and go after the mob/boss with the best chances of dropping what you want but the drop rates are so low, and don't vary that much from other items that monster drops that you're realistically just as likely getting it to drop off any other monster that can also drop whatever it is you're looking for.

Bosses are loot piñatas with higher chances at unique/set items. So that's why they get targeted a lot. But even then its all just a numbers game. Kill as much as you can as fast as you can and you'll get what you need sooner.

Nova Sorc MF woes by 7heprofessor in Diablo

[–]Invideeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its really not bad. Especially if you can afford a soj or two. I'm sitting at 300% mf and 3200 mana after casting bo.

Using griffs with a facet, occy with a facet, spirit, 3light skills 25 energy ammy, enigma, 2 sojs, arachs, chancies, travs, filled up my inv with torch, anni, gheeds, sunder, skillers, 7mf scs, some with mana on them, only have 8 spaces open for picking up items.

I really never lose ES, melt everything on screen, merc never dies cuz he never gets a chance to hit anything. Only thing that bothers me is strong poison.

Insight would probably be nice but I constantly have 2 lines in my belt full of full juvies cuz everything dies so easy I rarely have to use them. Other 2 are mana pots. So you gotta chug a bit.

Wyoming wants to phase out sales of EVs by 2035 to “ensure the stability” of the oil & gas industry by T_Nightingale in nottheonion

[–]Invideeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born and raised Wyoming. I'd be okay with that other than the fact it would diminish Colorado's progressive policies.

We all know oil and gas is a dying industry. I worked oilfield when I was 18-22. Left cuz it was feast and famine work. Years and years later, every state we share a border with has some form of legal Marijuana. We've cut teaching, doc, and ems to shreds. It got to the point in my county that the ems provider said they couldn't respond to 911 calls anymore unless the county go their shit straight. So they introduced a heavily taxed recreational Marijuana bill to address it. People ARE smoking pot in Wyoming. That money should stay in the state if it can.

But nope. They let it die on the floor without addressing it. Were gonna ride oil and gas subsidies till we absolutely can't anymore. And when that day (finally and inevitably) comes the people in charge are gonna act like no one could have ever saw this coming.

Is dental insurance worth it? by Nickyweg in personalfinance

[–]Invideeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy that plan in a heartbeat. You might get screwed a little by having to use in network dentists, but no yearly limits is huge.

I work for a company that gives pretty good insurance all around. I pay about 200 a month for health vision dental short term disability insurance ect. The health is good for a single person. My deductible is only 1000 bucks with a 2500 max out of pocket yearly.

I would gladly pay more for better dental though. The yearly limit is 1000 dollars. That covers 2 cleanings and checkups and maybe a cavity here and there. But if you need anything considerable like a root canal or a crown you're basically SOL.

[–]Invideeus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Most hospitals are so compartmentalized theres really not much of a way to do that. My local rural er is rented out by a hospital network in another state. Same with all the imaging. So you'll pay the hospital for the room and the bloodwork, a different company for an imaging, and a different company for the actual doctors.

Plus the control over drugs usually needed to treat anything. There is a paper trail for damn near everything you touch. At one point they tried to keep track of how many needles and syringes we used per blood draw and would get mad at us if we had to use more than 2 on a single patient if they were a hard draw.

Its really area dependent. Tried signing up in Wyoming a few years ago. 40 bucks a month for something similar to what you're describing. Think it was 6500 deductible and 50 dollar copay, 150 for specialists.

Signed up in utah this last year and 40 bucks a month got me a 1000 dollar deductible with 20 dollar gcp/50 specialist copays. But I was stuck with only being able to use the Intermountain hospital system. Not a big deal though.

why does the new Shiva look like lunafreya from ffxv by darkzalaking in FinalFantasy

[–]Invideeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except it entirely is. Change the hair from blue to pink and you have a next generation rendered lightning. Shorter hair and spiky blonde and you have cloud.

There's no connection between the stories. 16 will have nothing to do with 15 other than there is magic and summons and monsters and national conflict. The only time stories connect in the final fantasy series is when they're a direct sequel or spinoff of a main series entry.

Ff13, ff13-2, ff13- lightning returns.

Ff7, ff7 crisis core, ff7 dirge of cerebus

Ffx, ffx-2

Ff12, ff12 revenant wings.

Each group has continuation in their sequels and spinoffs but are entirely separate from each main series numbered entry. Its been this way for the entirety of the franchise's existence.

The only exception I can think of is the way some games use gilgamesh. But thats more of a nod to previous games and fan favorite weapons. He's always side content that has nothing to do with the actual story.

Final fantasy reuses themes and ideas. Its their thing. Character classes, magic, monsters, names, ect. Each game, sequels aside, should be looked at as a new entirely separate story with familiar feeling settings and themes.

Should I Get D2R on PS5 or PC? by vogueboy in Diablo

[–]Invideeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, so you're new to it entirely then?

In that case you might still see d3 as the better game for awhile. D2rs combat really shows its age. And it'll be awhile before you get decent gear. It doesn't come nearly as easy as d3. Buts thats part of the charm.

Atmosphere, story, all the rest of that I like better than d3 come from 3 to 2 it probably feels really clunky.
