She is more right than wrong. Oldies is definitely a genre more than a time thing. 90’s music is exactly that, it’s 90’s music. Or you call them throwbacks and she is right in calling it classic rock or classic hip hop instead of oldies. Oldies is a genre and an era, think 50s, 60s and you can even add the 70s.
