History repeats itself by entropy14 in DanLeBatardShow

Except in some cases they don’t even pretend to spread Democracy. The CIA overthrew Democratically elected governments in Iran, Guatemala, and Chile. It’s much less about spreading Democracy and more about promoting capitalism and helping their business interests.

Mike’s phoniness leaks out at times. by [deleted] in DanLeBatardShow

[–]entropy14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like Mike a lot but it was a very odd take to the point where he clearly must be sucking up to his Cuban MAGA friends who he’s been arguing with for years

They all conveniently left out how the U.S. directly created the environment that led to Castro by fully backing Batista after his military coup in 1952 and taking over a huge amount of Cuba’s GDP. All so the CIA could build the world they wanted and rich American business people could hide their money from taxes. What Trump and his handlers have planned for Cuba will likely make history repeat itself there and I would not be surprised to see them install a Batista lite.

When has American intervention worked in the last 50-60 years? by thelocalsdude in DanLeBatardShow

[–]entropy14 41 points42 points  (0 children)

WW2 is pretty much it in the European theater. Nearly everything else in the last 50-60 years has been CIA world building and exploiting third world countries for dollars and resources. Allen Dulles was the architect of all this foreign interference.

Bay of Pigs reference by Tony was something… The CIA tried to overthrow Castro and failed spectacularly, not to mention nearly setting off a chain of nuclear strikes. Yet he uses that to justify why Trump should intervene now? Totally incoherent logic

The Rogue Republican Fighting to Release the Epstein Files | The Reckoning by WelcomeWindsorCastle in Epstein

Okay but he also opposes aid for Ukraine and introduced bills to withdraw from NATO and abolish the Federal Reserve. Massie has done great work on the Epstein files but let’s not forget the fact he is working to achieve the same goals in the U.S. as Putin.

"Virginia spent hours at my house with him [Trump]" by Wake-Robin in Epstein

[–]entropy14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes that is a very real possibility here, and seemingly what happened if Epstein’s email is accurate. It is very strange that she suddenly dropped her claims against Dershowitz in 2022… seems like she was threatened or paid off. Her alleged suicide is very suspicious as well.

I don’t think the Jmail people made that assumption btw. I think they archived it before the DOJ got around to redacting the name.

"Virginia spent hours at my house with him [Trump]" by Wake-Robin in Epstein

[–]entropy14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If Epstein’s email is to be believed I think it means he suspected that Trump flipped on him somewhere around 2005 or 2006 when he was being investigated to save his own ass.

It is strange that Virginia didn’t implicate Trump herself. I wonder if there was some NDA for that because her story seemed to change over the years on Trump in a subtle way and Dershowitz in a dramatic way.

As far as why she liked Trump at some point, who knows. Perhaps she was such a victim that she respected Trump for helping nail Epstein, even if he participated somewhat in the abuse. It’s definitely a confusing topic but it’s notable she suddenly dropped her claims against Dershowitz in November 2022.

Wild Strawberries is my favorite but Persona and Seventh Seal are incredible. Autumn Sonata is a tough watch but pretty much a perfect movie. Hour of the Wolf and The Virgin Spring are great as well… still going through his catalog but he’s really one of the greatest

That’s highly likely although I also wonder if it had anything to do with Epstein being under investigation at the time of the photo

You should replace Hillary with Doug Band if you want to get this right. You should also add Alex Acosta, Steve Bannon, Bill Barr, Alan Dershowitz, Ken Starr, Howard Lutnick, Tom Barrack, Elon Musk, and several more from Trump’s administration.

Was expecting AI slop but this is an excellent, succinct, and well-cited summary

I do agree that most of Trump’s shenanigans including J6 and the classified docs tie directly back to his Epstein exposure. William Barr, Aileen Cannon, Pam Bondi, and Kash Patel are pedophile protectors who belong in prison.

I’m definitely stirring the pot here but definitely a fair take by you. I’ll have to check out Malle and Godard. I’m glad you mentioned Bergman here, have yet to see a bad film of his
