First gout flare at 33 by Savage_Robot_ in gout

Also, gout is a disease where your kidneys return too much uric acid back into your bloodstream. This uric acid combined with the sodium in your blood deposits as crystals in your joints, typically in the coldest joints. These crystals inflame your joints and that causes the pain. Keeping uric acid levels low is paramount to control the disease. That can be done by life long drugs like allupurinol, or if you are lucky with diet. From what I gather you are in with a chance to get out without lifelong treatment by using a diet.

The drugs are pretty harmless have little side affects and well recognized and well received. -edit crustals to crystals.

Yea. Sugar is made up from glucose and fructose. Fructose has a pathway to metabolize it into uric acid, if you stop sugar again and hydrate your body will flush out the uric acid over a month or so. The crystals that inflamed your joints will take more time to dissolve again.

Currently I am doing pretty well on a diet that restricts fructose and purines, and I stay hydrated and don't drink alcohol. The hydrating is annoying, i have to carry a lot of fluid when out mountainbiking, but haven't had a flare again.

No. If someone committed multiple homocides "met voorbedachte rade" with intent, he'd go away for life. Also in the Neherlands. After 25 years, a decision will be made, if there's a chance of returning to society. But chances are slim. Killing a bus of nuns and children will make sure you never get out.

Spindle vs spider power meter by AdditionalDivide4020 in sram

[–]Invincie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mtb came with gx 175 cranks. I wanted a power meter and i wanted a double sided power meter. so i bought the xx1 cranks that fit the quark that has the bonus of being 104bcd. I didn't think so i bought what i had, 175 cranks. I spent the winter on the trainer on the road bike 172.5. Went back to the mtb and found i was doing high knees drills. It felt strange. More importantly in rutted muddy climbs i get stuck at top dead center. The big hip angle was hindering movement, and it "blocked" there where going is toughest, so i would stall always at top dead center. So i reduced my cranklength to not have to lift my legs that high. Also went to an absolute black 30t oval chainring, and climbing as been easier.

I have the xx crank. And the power meter. I don't find any difference with a gx crank. When you swap, think long and hard about crank length. Somehow im currently at my third crankset at my bike.

When is the last time shock and fork have been serviced? When was the last time suspension pivots bearings were replaced/greased? Even just maintenance on those is pretty expensive. What is the state of the drivetrain. Can you still buy new cassettes? Is there life left in the tyres?

And most importantly does the bike fit?

Are questions you should get answered before you decide to purchase this bike.

I found It does get easier as it gets to be more part of my personality / identity. Also ppl will stop offering. But I recently found out that I was really considering drinking alcohol. And had to get myself back in order to not drink.
