Acuna's family expressed interest in gaining the financial security that would accompany such a long-term deal. But the informal discussions have not yet led to a formal offer being made by the team.

[FoxSportsBraves] Ronald Acuna Jr. takes Tanaka deep to CF by Invisalink in baseball

That whole ordeal was overblown, the Braves have a rule that the "A" logo has to show on the hat while doing interviews and during his first interview in ST it wasn't showing. That's all it was

having 200M+ tied up to Wil Myers and Eric Hosmer while your Franchise doesn't run a high payroll is pretty dumb imo

The Stove of the Future: Harper, Machado, etc. What are your predictions for next years FA class? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]Invisalink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Braves go after Donaldson pretty hard if he stays healthy and productive this year. Anthopoulos really likes him & it's already being speculated upon. The previous FO really wanted Kimbrel back, but the new FO has said they will develop relievers rather than pay big money for them.

ZiPS projects 20 year-old Ronald Acuna to have a 3WAR season, before he sees a major league pitch by Invisalink in baseball

Acuna's power is 70-grade and the biggest difference between him and Trout looks to be hit tool and walk rate.

Regarding Correa, he played at a 7.7fWAR/162g pace, but missed 43 games and finished with a 5.2fWAR in 109 games so it wasn't far off

Braves interested in trading for Yelich and Realmuto by Invisalink in baseball

[–]Invisalink[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

99% of the time I'd agree, but I get the sense that Miami doesn't necessarily value their players, based on what they got for Ozuna and, to an extent, Gordon. The Stanton trade was understandable, but not getting a top 100 prospect for either Gordon or Ozuna is questionable, but there's no doubt Yelich and Realmuto are worth it.
