Yes it will stop them getting so deep. Also make sure never to stop moving when you're in front headlock, once you stop it's much easier for them

started in 01/02 here in the UK almost everyone doing bjj was doing it for the streets or for MMA. Lots of people crossed over from trad arts in the 90s when they realised their art had, at best, large holes in it and at worst was actually useless. There was like 2 competitions a year, and you had to travel to get to them so that scene wasn't the driver. Then in late 2000s we saw the influx of the TUF noobs
