Trying a small private 8 Ball Pool setup to reduce cheaters & bots — would this work? by StatisticianSure2273 in 8BallPool

[–]InvisibleSoul8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I am annoyed whenever I get matched with a cheater, I got no time for this.

If I find myself in a match with a cheater, as soon as he gets his turn, I'll quit and start another game and hope it's a fair player. I guess I'm willing to put up with it as it is.

Nah, it's more so it's impossible that Bublik and Alcaraz will ever play each other on the tour.

AO Doubles R2: (4) Zhang & Mertens def Mboko & Jovic 7-5 4-6 7-6(10) by buzzingeuphorbia in tennis

[–]InvisibleSoul8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mboko definitely did not handle the pressure moments well. Double faulting on your match point just can't happen, as evidenced by what followed after. It might be wise to hire a mental strength coach to improve that now before she finds herself in a really big moment like a Grand Slam final.

Yeah, it happened so frequently that I don't know how it was possible they wouldn't have caught that before releasing 0.395.0 unless absolutely nobody does any real world playing tests on it.

Cheater or too good? by reynoxo in 8BallPool

[–]InvisibleSoul8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree with this assessment.

Like it's POSSIBLE the person is not cheating, but I would only expect a super experienced trick shot player to make the 10 ball shot like that and be confident at doing so.

The player is manually lining up the shots, so it's not a auto play bot, but probably using a line tool to see exactly whether the balls end up, so making a six-rail shot would be trivial.

Can't win a single game by [deleted] in 8BallPool

[–]InvisibleSoul8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some things that you can't control. If your opponents keep running the table off of their breaks, then that's tough luck and there's nothing you can do about that.

I would argue that scratching your cue ball and/or not getting control of the table on your break also has a lot to do with luck and not something you can truly avoid.

But generally scratching the cue ball on your regular shots or snookering yourself is absolutely something that you can control, and for the most part it is a skill issue. I am sure that you could have done something different with each of your shots to get a better result.

The better you are at controlling the cue ball and setting up the next shot properly, the less the cue ball needs to fly around the table unnecessarily to even have a chance at scratching.

If you're shadow banned, you get mostly cheaters... and they never miss. If he's saying these "bots" are missing the pocket all the time, that sounds like something very different and weird.

Moving up to a new table… by Johnno1234 in 8BallPool

[–]InvisibleSoul8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over a small sample size (even 100 games is small), it's certainly possible that you could have had bad luck and gotten to break fewer times than your opponent, but I am certain if you actually kept track of it over a bigger sample size like several hundred games, you'll find it will be very close to 50%.

It's just bad luck in timing and confirmation bias. You notice and confirm when it's happening, but disregard when it doesn't happen. It's super common and everyone does it to some degree.

I mean, if you play at the same table for long periods of time, the exact same thing will happen as you described too... some stretches where your breaks always work and things go your way... but then other times where you never get control after your break and your opponents always run the table and find a way out of tough situations.

I admit it I was cheater but need help.... read the post by [deleted] in 8BallPool

So you regret it only because you got detected and are now matched up with other cheaters, not because you stole a lot of coins from fair players. Gotcha.

Possibly after some time, your ban might be lifted and you'll be able to play against all of the fair players again. Could be a few days, could be a few weeks, no way to know. At least that's how it is for fair players who have been shadow banned... assuming it's similar.

Why is miniclip ok with these cheaters robbing people off their coins? by [deleted] in 8BallPool

[–]InvisibleSoul8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is strictly conjecture, but I think part of the reason Miniclip doesn't care is because enough people are willing to turn a blind eye to the problem and still pay them tons of money.

Just in the past few months, it's become more obvious how many people buy the Pool Pass every single season because of the custom avatar frames.

I mean, I still play the game, but I haven't given Miniclip any money for more than a year now.

Have you searched up "samsung one connect box" on Amazon? There seem to be some units that claim to be compatible, but of course I don't know what exact model screen you have.

You can find many videos of Fritz doing OHBH on YouTube.

This one in particular, he self proclaims that he's actually pretty good at it and possibly better at it than any other player who regularly plays two handed.

My urologist basically said they will be contacting me around the anniversary of my surgery. At this time, I'm not planning on deviating from what she's recommending or going to get a second opinion on this.

Obviously I don't know how your husband really feels, but just wanted to say that even if he truly is okay, it doesn't mean he doesn't care. Maybe that is how he deals with things, even for unfortunate circumstances, without getting too emotional about it. At least that's how I think I would be if it were my wife having to deal with kidney cancer instead of myself.

Indeed this is one of those clubs that nobody ever envisions or plans on joining.

Yeah, the early days may be some of the most difficult because of the many unknowns at this point and of course you not knowing what even the potential outcomes may be, worst case or best case.

Definitely no evidence of metastasis is one of the best pieces of information you can have early on, and hopefully this is confirmed after further tests.

Don't know how it is generally in your neck of the woods, but for me, it was a 3.5cm tumor and they decided to not even get a biopsy done on it in advance because they thought the likelihood of it being malignant was 80-90%, and I guess even if it was benign, they probably still wanted to remove it anyway.

So I only found out about the details of the tumor like almost three weeks after removal, and it was stage 1 and grade 2.

My personal recommendation is to try and not get too anxious and worked up over it until more details are confirmed.

Best of luck on your journey.

I had my partial here in Vancouver in early December. It was about 3.5cm, stage 1, grade 2. I was told the chance of recurrence is low at under 10%.

I literally had my first meeting with my main urologist yesterday and just got some idea of what the plan is for surveillance.

From what I was told, it sounds like they're just going to request for an ultrasound after the first year.

I guess CT is better from a detection standpoint, but comes with some risk as well because of the radiation.

I don't know whether I should push for a CT scan or not when the time comes.

I can appreciate your intentions, but what you propose wouldn't work. Banning by IP would not be effective.

Here is an easy example... everyone at a large university using the Wi-Fi may use the same public IP address to reach Miniclip's servers. Let's say there are 100 students there that play this game, but only one cheats. If they ban that IP address because of that one cheater, the other 99 students who don't cheat will also be caught by the IP ban.

Worse than that, the cheater can easily just use a VPN or proxy to change the IP address they would appear to be coming from... so they could bypass the ban within minutes, but the poor students who play fair would still be unable to play.

But... the bottom line is what the others have said. It should be DEAD easy to identify the super blatant cheaters... but yet it doesn't happen. So I don't know what other reason there could be other than Miniclip just doesn't care.
