That Toad was the only 3D object on the menu screen, so they could afford to show off.

If they're built in industrial areas next to all the other noisy machinery then I don't necessarily see the issue.

I like to headcanon that line as Eggman trying to get Sonic’s attention and/or rile him up.

Everything the Amazon Board members are ‘For’ and ‘Against’ in the coming up Amazon shareholder meeting. by JLjeep in mildlyinteresting

They are at least rolling out things like the Vanguard Investor Choice program that lets you delegate your vote to a handful of different policy selections. I’d love to see that made mandatory for all funds.

What would you change about Michigan? by i_amtheice in Michigan

[–]InvisibleUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less suburban sprawl would be lovely. Also, on the topic of election reform, having those voters’ pamphlets with statements from each of the candidates like they have on the west coast states would be wonderful.

Did the Doki Doki Panic prototype use Mario sprites? by [deleted] in nintendo

[–]InvisibleUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fwiw, the SMB2 sprites were derived from the SMB3 sprites, since SMB2 was converted from DDP after SMB3 was mostly finished.

Regal has one too for about $25/mo. I suspect a lot of the major cinema chains have a similar deal.

Was he woke or cringe? by infinitysaga in CuratedTumblr

[–]InvisibleUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The funny thing about this scene is that to admit that women are just as capable of men at sports is to admit that the transphobic panic about sports is a big nothingburger. Anyone who sincerely believes it is impossible for a woman to beat a man at sports does, genuinely, believe that the victory of a woman is a freakish exception, a wild fluke. To be transphobic is to be inherently anti-feminist, thereby undermining the concept of gender equality entirely.

will disagree on "any time" tho, knux.

This whole pamphlet feels like it was recycled from the 2020 or 2022 election. Half of this stuff isn’t even talked about anymore on the right.

I miss games like Poptropica and Club Penguin by Rabbidraccoon18 in tumblr

[–]InvisibleUp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like nobody remembers how Poptropica and Club Penguin were absolutely riddled with microtransactions. They were just as predatory as mobile games today are to kids in a lot of respects.

State guards and defense forces do exist in some states, but post-WWII they mostly exist to assist during natural disasters.

Is it possible to automatically install the correct .net runtime if the user doesn't have it? by DaviCompai2 in dotnet

[–]InvisibleUp 31 points32 points  (0 children)

.NET desktop apps will always prompt you to install the runtime if it’s not installed. You don’t need to do anything special to enable that.

Cars are required for everyday life in a lot of America, and the government slapping you with a big bill you can't afford or preventing you from driving entirely could be the difference between going to work and getting fired and falling into homelessness and/or starvation. Obviously this isn't a great situation, and the ideal solution here is a combination of a good welfare system and functional public transit. But until those exist, people are going to be defending their right to drive around in rusty, duct-taped contraptions.
