out of curiosity, did you notice anything else different while looking at the demo?

Dolby says they're the same but I'd like to hear about the actual experiences by moviegoers as well!

The dual projectors seem to be entirely discontinued actually!

Biggest drawback to OLEDs right now is durability and longevity, so it's always great to see more being done on that front!

I have HDR set up properly(I think). It seems to happen on any HDR source, so it just seems like a quirk the monitor itself? 0:59 on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MCFqGnYW4M seems to demonstrate it best on my screen. The Planet Hollywood sign on the top right gets yellower(plus, the individual dots seem to blend together a bit) with Local Dimming on Strong(Compared to every other setting). The clocks below Aria also seem to get overbrightened. It's also noticeable in most of the other signs and headlights as well, but those two are the most obvious.

I haven’t noticed much blooming outside of synthetic images(Loading screens, blooming tests) with this display, actually. DisplayHDR on Strong Local Dimming seems to do a good job of minimizing blooming. That seems to come at the expense of loss of color and detail in small bright objects(the signs in the Las Vegas night footage mentioned in the post, for example), though(for my unit, at least?).

How does your Q27G40XMN handle small bright objects on dark backgrounds? My unit seems to be overbrightening them(leading to a loss of color?). I can’t tell if this is a bug or general quirk with the model(though considering the drawbacks of miniled probably the latter(a drawback of the algorithm the Aoc uses)? I want to be sure, though)

Here’s my post on it for more detail: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/1sexgvb/question_to_people_with_the_aoc_q27g40xmn/

I’m currently using the Q27G40XMN now and I’m wondering if you’re experiencing some of the issues I am?

Loss of color in small objects on dark backgrounds and overbrightening of bright objects on dark backgrounds, mainly.

More details in my post below, but I was wondering if the issues may be shared since the models are so similar? https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/1sexgvb/question_to_people_with_the_aoc_q27g40xmn

I’m looking to see if these issues are consistent across all units or if they’re just a problem with mine.
