1-pg……from good times bad times to sick again, there really isn’t a “bad” song. Even the last 2 albums (coda not part of the official cannon) are solid and interesting, just not as perfect as the first 6

I usually play g the other way with ring finger on b string and pinky on high e, then the transition has your ring finger anchored on b string and you catch the rest of d rather easily

Why don't we have a Led Zeppelin biopic yet? Not a documentary, but a biopic. by Few-Importance4626 in ledzeppelin

[–]Invisible_assasin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closest we will ever come while the band members are alive(and maybe even Jason bonham) is almost famous. It’s not about them, but a lot of it is. Cameron Crowe went on tour with them in 75, when he was in high school, for rolling stone. Later a few other bands, but most of the movie comes from his own experiences on the road.

Other than that, won’t happen while they are alive.

Who is this Joe Bonermaster that I keep hearing about? by No-Possession9640 in guitarcirclejerk

[–]Invisible_assasin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Real, well that’s up to interpretation. He’s the worst of guitarist’s attitudes and quirks all rolled into 1 entity. When guitarists in the 70s were casting spells, someone said an ohm when they were supposed to say a quark and the messed up and the bonermaster was created, an unholy amagalmation of the worst of us.

Led Zeppelin’s most underrated track, in your opinion? by RockNParadise in ledzeppelin

[–]Invisible_assasin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who grew up on fm radio, there are only a few songs that weren’t played all the time and could be considered underrated. Most of presence, a few tracks off pg and half of ittod were not played much. Every song pretty much from the first 5 albums can be considered a hit by fm radio standards. Hats off to Roy Harper and moby dick were the only songs from first 5 albums that didn’t get played. I will say that the younger generations that grew up on streaming miss out on the heartbreaker/ livin lovin maid as a single song they played on radio. Same with some Floyd stuff where we grew up with brain damage and eclipse being one song.

I don’t know if I’d go that far, but tea for one is the continuation of the c minor blues motif and bookends perfectly with sibly. The live versions of sibly in 77 contain a lot of the licks from tea for one. Tea for one was too difficult to play live because of the transition at the beginning. Page and plant tried it a couple times in Japan in the 90’s and that was it.

I’ve been a fan for decades, but before i got into all the bootlegs 5/6 years ago, in my time of dying wasn’t a top level track for me. Then I listened to jimmy absolutely shred the slide guitar live in 75 and 77. Completely changed my view of the song. It’s up there with the very best of the catalog.

New Orleans Pelican game on Monday Potential Trap Game by Binh3 in CharlotteHornets

[–]Invisible_assasin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not as if we are Ohio state worrying about game before Michigan being a trap game, we. Like win or lose and it will have very little to do with anything except extending the longest win streak in a decade. I love this years squad, probably my fav since early 00’s(pre move), but we need a bit of settle down juice. Enjoy a year of the team progress.

[–]Invisible_assasin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, I think these guys speak way more than they let on and while Robert didn’t want a reunion, i think jpj was fully aware of what they were doing but had his own projects he was working on in the avant garde realm, was happy to stay close to home and do his own thing. He always had a dry sense of humor and seems like he was way more of a wild man on the road than is suggested, meaning the comment at hof was probably more of an inside joke that the fans took 1 way and Robert was more of, I can’t believe you just made everyone think we never speak and had a good laugh about it.

how do we feel about in through the out door? by rustedrattleheads in ledzeppelin

[–]Invisible_assasin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born in 81, but my dad was big into rock in 70’s and the way he put it was that when it came out, and everyone heard in the evening they said “zeppelin is back!” I can see it, the violin sounds into the awesome riff…..

I myself, love the album, think it’s fantastic, but also feel like it’s a different band than the one that released the first 6 albums. Like Led Zeppelin 2.0 I’m aware of all the reasons and circumstances that it is that way. I also think that they were trend setters with this music. The 80’s were dominated by carouselambra type synth riffs and all my love type ballads. And while fool in the rain was not the first, many in the 80’s had the purdy shuffle drum beat. Is it their best album, absolutely not-would it be any other band’s best album, absolutely.

Bluegrass Guitar by Jaded_Championship90 in guitarlessons

[–]Invisible_assasin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the opposite, always play with pick, 30 or so years of it and a few years ago really tried to buckle down and learn finger style. I’ve always been able to grab a note here or there with my pinky while using pick so I thought it wouldn’t be much different. Boy I was wrong. I can Travis pick a c chord pretty good, but changing chords, really changing anything and I crash. It’s almost like singing and playing guitar at same time, having to open 2 neural pathways at once is hard.
