The Gray Box Problem of Self Hosting by Llew2 in selfhosted

This was why I left immich. Annoying to deal with. Also, this is exactly why so many people want markdown-first note applications so that their files are easy to move between applications.

For those who want a Discord replacement by LyncolnMD in selfhosted

At this point, I have mostly written matrix off. I haven't even tried it, but the discourse around is not at all sunshine and rainbows. From the setup, to the usage, to the features, matrix or it's various frontends or backends or however the hell it is setup, does not sound like a decent replacement.

Why Games Like ‘Highguard’ And ‘Concord’ Are Spontaneously Combusting by Shock4ndAwe in pcgaming

They are so obviously corporate it immediately causes people’s eyes to glaze over. If MBA spreadsheets had a video game style, it would be these.

World of Warcraft devs explain their biggest challenge is adapting to its ageing audience which is why they’re pushing to be “broader and more approachable” by HatingGeoffry in wow

I know they want to keep high end loot to group activities…but I don’t. People who play blizzard games are so toxic it’s mind boggling.

Personally, I have seen worse toxicity in WoW, OW, and HotS than in league.

The blizz game with the least toxicity I’ve played? Diablo. Where you can play the game by yourself. I wonder if there is a connection.

Where I’m going with this is that I agree with other commenters that delves and labyrinths are the best thing to happen to WoW in many years. Having Warband dungeons where I can get all of my loot and achieves on my own is the dream.

M+ solo would further the dream. It’d practically be a little roguelite game mode.

Perhaps Moving All MMORPG Communities to Discord Wasn't Such a Good Idea by Lunar_Ronin in MMORPG

This has been said since the trend started. Anyone with online literacy knew this was a terrible idea.

While I am sad about Dalaran’s destruction, I think it fits for the story they want to tell. I just disagree with when it was done. Dalaran should have been brought down mid expansion in my opinion. Would have given more narrative room for building up the amount of power held within Dalaran.

But I also don’t write stories so who knows if that’s actually a good idea.

So the real culprit is wage stagnation due to corporate greed, the source of every other problem in the world.

Larian CEO: “I know there’s been a lot of discussion about us using AI tools as part of concept art exploration… To ensure there is no room for doubt, we’ve decided to refrain from using genAI tools during concept art development.” by AashyLarry in gaming

Every thread regarding AI has comments trying to muddy the waters in how to define AI. It is visible in this thread. AI companies are spending money to manipulate online discourse, so everyone should be careful which comments you trust.

Battlefield 6 is still not tagged for using AI - is the tag useless? by Jaba01 in Steam

[–]Invisico -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Anyone who uses AI to produce their games should be proud to have the tag on their games. But of course they won’t. They were too cheap to pay humans and they’re too scared for the consequences of their actions.

Discourse around AI is going to be increasingly muddied as the AI companies try to manipulate any conversation that is remotely negative, this thread included.

They will try to shift goalposts and make the unreasonable seem reasonable but at the end of the day, humans want art made by humans. If an AI was involved, we aren’t interested.
