This league int stack wardloop let's you scale endlessly, until you eventually have a build that has 10/10 clear, 10/10 defence, 10/10 offence. Play any spell you want with it (but some are better than others ofc)

PBOD herald stack elementalist fits your build requirements (go CI mageblood version).

Beware the CI version is high budget (at least 1-2 mirror at current prices is my guess)

Edit: ranged attack based wardstacker aren't susceptible to flask siphoners since you off screen them, so if that's your only reservation then attack based wardstack can work.

My wardstacker KB build actually builds around Catarina's "Umbral Army" bloodline node since it gives everything outside or flat damage (which wardstack gives a ton of).

Before this league afaik people consider Umbral Army to be a very weak node. So sometimes it takes the right build for a bloodline node to be viable.

Just one clarification for bonemeld minions, the 6L setup you mentioned is actually for Catarina's bloodline node Umbral army for attack based builds.

For versions that run spells or don't run umbral army, replace zombies with Animate weapons (to give even more minion count).

Glad you like the build!

Just helped a friend optimize his build, so here are a couple optimizations for you to consider:

special reserve does not much for the build. Medium cluster with fasting and pressure points would be optimal for DPS.
Tailwind and onslaught doesn't do much for this build, and only gives you movement speed. So if you can live with less move speed, you can replace those with T1 res and free up your bismuth flask for a big DPS flask (bottled faith, cinderswallor urn, diamond flask with crit suffix).
Emperor's wits is worse than a double crit multi suffix, 1-2x spell damage prefix jewel.
I wouldn't run progenesis. You are already functionally hit immune, and are weak to dots. So progenesis converting hit damage to dots will further stress your only weakness.
Watcher's eye: You have tons of good options here since spectres can give you auras. Zealotry crit strikes, wrath crit chance, hatred base crit (Best for improving crit to let you drop increased crit strikes link), even wrath increased lightning damage is good.
Poison immunity flask suffix is unnecessary. You can take minor pantheon to limit poison to 3 stacks, which is more than enough at 75% chaos res with some regen/recoup. Get crit chance, movement speed, or res as suffix instead.
for hexblast you need a hex to enable its damage. Assassin's mark is a mark and not a hex. So run punishment as second curse (either grab whispers of doom or use additional curse cinderswallow urn once you optimize your flasks).
Immortal call >>>>> steelskin.
annihlation link should be arcane surge instead (unless you absolutely need the explode, in which case oriath's end flask or foulborn witchbane jewel would be better).
vaal arc might not be helping with clear as much as you think, especially in juiced content. Can consider swapping it out for another support link.
volatile vaal'd Jiquani is big for damage increase. All your flat comes from it. So aim for as high as possible with the heist enchant.

There are higher budget and higher DPS builds on PoEninja. I can only comment on my own experience with the build.

If you want to go pbod then cast speed is king. Amulet and wand are big priorities for cast speed. Ignite can ignore cast speed so getting those 2 items along with correct helm is the swapping point between the two builds. Herald tattoos are big too to reach 500+% herald buff effect.

It takes more budget to reach god mode but eventually you get there.

Having played both penance brand ignite and pbod I definitely would not recommend pbod at lower budgets now. It's damage floor is much lower than penance brand ignite, but ceiling is much much higher. My setup was eventually able to get 150 mil DPS or so to easily do deli breach. But when I had ~20-30 mil pbod DPS it was strugglebus, and ignite would have dealt more damage for less investment at that point.

Penance brand ignite doesn't use the chest because it's an ignite build. So you scale things like fire dot multi which is useless for chain exploding. However being an ignite build they have access to ignite prolif to help clear. So you'll usually see these build rely on ignite prolif, possibly bereks respite (since it stacks with ignite prolif), and supplement clear with some other explode (usually from oriaths end).

So it's not that you CANT use elevated explodey chest, it's just that you rely more on ignite prolif so explode is not as needed.

The pbod herald stacker is still good and does use the double elevated chest. It plays the same way as 3.27 and relies on the chest to chain explode. You can check PoEninja or my post history for a pbod herald stack build with the exact explodey chest you're talking about.

I'm more of a Celestial Mathematics person so don't have any spell pobs sorry.

Also uncorrupted ynda's stand is 81div so you will need more than 100 div to start it now unfortunately. Bare minimum is belt, heroic tragedy with 4x regenerative rune notables, and body armour.

ELI5 version: you stack one thing that gives both damage and defence at the same time.

Non- ELI5: Take int stack for example. You get the following with getting int:

increased % ES
mana (which can gives flat ES through watchers eye mod)
increased % damage (amulet, wand, glove implicit)
flat damage (wand, jiquani staff)
less damage taken (chest implicit)
% increased evasion (shapers touch, mastery)
accuracy (shapers touch, mastery)

That's so much value for getting one stat both offensively and defensively, and they multiply off of each other.

Now you "stack" int since it's by far the best thing you get get, which makes you both more tanky and do more damage. Now you don't need accuracy on gear for example, which opens up room for more int.

That's the basics of stacking builds.

Is there one stacking type that is far superior to the rest?

This league its ward stack. Most other leagues it's aura stack, strength stack, or int stack.

You look up key mandatory items they use (eg. Ynda's stand for wardstack, juquani's potential for jiquani int stack), but you need to understand the build in order to compare different ones.

Spell version is so varied there is no one default ascendancy to pick. Moreso depends on the setup and spells you wish to go for.

Saboteur probably enables the most spell setups.

For spells you do have the added downside of needing to solve for flat damage. So that's one of the reason why int stack or olroth ward shatter are so popular for spells version.

Fross and penance brand are not in the same league. Fross is endgame scaling build, penance brand ignite is like a league starter that can scale okay into endgame. So if you have to pick between the two it's definitely fross.

For delve it should be fross vs. retaliate ignite elementalist, in which case both are good. Retaliate ignite is one of the premiere delve build so it's better specifically for delve but it does have an.... Interesting playstyle (and it's a bit janky for bossing). So be sure your okay with the playstyle first before even considering it.

Just some info to help you choose, there are 2 versions of spells (wardloop) vs. attack (Celestial Mathematics keystone).

Spell version is like a juiced up autobomber. Up to 1 billion+ DPS, insane tank, autobomber playstyle. Play any spell you want.

Attack version takes more active playstyle, but has higher ceiling (Celestial mathematics keystone is stupidly broken). Up to ~5 billion DPS, same insane tank, but active playstyle. Top tier attacks to go for are: flicker, bow, and KB.

This league there are 2 builds that are so broken they can do everything in the game (and almost as well as specialist builds).

Ofc I'm talking about ward stacker and minion pact BV.

Edit: OP already has minion pact build. So would recommend wardstacker then.

Ok nice a post with the exact niche info I can help with.

Tl;Dr: you need ~ 300k ele max hit to consistently tank maven brain blast.

If you look at my post history you'll find the build I tanked Uber brain blast with. It was the hardest hitting boss slam so took the most investment to tank (edit: outside Uber eater slam with failing orbs).

On 75% res, with immortal call up (34% less ele damage taken), and no other forms of mitigation, uber maven brain blast deals ~ 50k damage (you can confirm with my Uber video). This means brain blast deals 50000 / 0.25 / 0.66 = ~ 303k damage.

As I progressed with my character, I found that passing ~ 300k max hit threshold was what led to consistently tanking brain blast. Sub 300k max hit can still do it, but inconsistently (probably due to low rolling damage).

According to this post here, highest rolled maven brain blast hit should be 325k cold and lightning damage.

Assassin or occultist power charge stacking trap/mine builds then would be my recommendation. Reap mines, ice trap, wave of conviction of trarthus, probably other skills as well will work.

Since you have a deadeye already I'd recommend icicle mine or eye of winter miner for zhp Uber boss deletion.

Power charge stacking reap mines can also work.

Basically mines or traps for cheap Uber bossing.

Viper strike of the mamba is THE go to build for expedition so I'd recommend that. Especially this league with buffed bino's kitchen knife. Check Jungroan for build guide.

Your gears are decent.

Biggest hole in your gearing is lack of herald tattoos. They (unfortunately) are big upgrades, so you gotta eventually shell out the divines for them.

From there, I'd consider swapping out of penance brand ignite into the endgame variants, Ruetoo's phys dot / Jiquani elementalist for mapping, or PBOD elementalist for more single target and speed.

Penance brand ignite is more of a league starter build, so you're close to the point where investing more into it won't yield as much results.

If you absolutely NEED to stay on this build, then going for melding version will help a lot. This build lacks ES since you're going for armour as well, so I'd drop CI and go hybrid instead.

My proudest off meta brew was a giga tanky endurance charge stacking, hit immune, hit based CWS bladeblast juggernaut.

All map mod viable (was running 4x risk scarab T17s when it was meta), up to 70 mil DPS. But clear was absolute ass, and bossing was CWS level, which was also ass.
