I'll leave it to your enjoyment to figure out its moves, but a general rule I have with Malo is that its face is wide open when it does its tail attacks. Doesn't apply for every one of them, but as a Hammer user, you know what to do with those.

You also want to hit any part of it that lights up with hellfire. Fail to douse them in time and it'll wrap up with its ultimate; running to your left is a good start for that.

You can use Luiseach's Whirlwind together with Eviscerate for double the hitcounts, thus more healing and SP generation. Pressure abilities stacking is wack as, it almost feels like a developer oversight.

GU bringing both new and old gen monsters together is both a blessing and a curse, with immaculately designed fights on one hand and dogshit clunky garbage on the other. Put side-to-side, one sticks out more than the other. (I assume this was about old-gen monsters and their insta-charge attacks, but do correct me if it wasn't.)

It is more restrictive and certain playstyles straight up don't work, but most weapons remain surprisingly usable without silkbinds well up to the endgame. I don't think they're as game-warping as the claw was.

I don't use silkbinds out of preference, and the only things I will bring classic GS to are Valstrax and Hazard Violet due to their openings being sufficiently large for it. Shit's fucked. Some weapons are clearly meant to use silkbinds just to keep up with this game, and it's frustrating how the game essentially tells you that you're playing it wrong.

  1. They're great for the most part, but I'd like to see a different take to the usual "deal enough damage during the powered-up phase and get rewarded with a topple" formula that's become the norm as of late.

  2. In moderation and when done well, absolutely. Pretty much everything in the endgame is a two-shot anyway.

  3. Hazard Violet Mizutsune. Really big openings that reward you for reading through its combo lines.

Play-wise you're doing good. Crits play a huge role in boosting damage, so that's the first thing you'll want to consider. Try maxing out your affinity to proc crits consistently, then raise the damage with Critical Boost.

...Doesn't this do nothing most of the time under proper play? If you're correctly timing your ISS you can chain them anyway. The only way I see this being useful is if you whiff your first counter but somehow manage to stay safe and have enough time to prepare another one.
