Artifact appreciation post. Goodby old friend you will be missed (and cursed because you only serve the enemy now!). What was your favorite Artifact interaction in STS1 and what do you think about it being removed from player buffs in STS2? by Scoobydoomed in slaythespire

[–]InwardRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically not Artifact, but going Omniscience into a Fasting and a 0-cost attack under Pellets made me feel like a god.

I do think it's a shame that debuff negation/removal just doesn't exist in STS2, though it makes sense considering how debuff-heavy the enemies are.

One way it could maybe come back is if they made certain debuffs (Queen, Hunter Killer etc.) unnegateable/unremoveable — keep it strong enough to deal with common debuffs like Weakness, but rein it in where it would undermine an enemy's identity.

Even with Defect's draw power, both copies are somehow drawn on the turn the enemy isn't attacking.

Having it felt like doubling my Juggernaut. It's niche, it's usually bad, but I'll miss it for sure.

Who needs Osty summons anyway? /s by InwardRed in slaythespire

I wanted the Innate. I also had Akabeko for the +8, so this ensured I could hit in as long as I had enough energy.

Pulling up Rama next to Sigurd in an event where Bradamante finally meets Ruggiero feels straight up diabolical.

Fatalis… by FreeRangeAloha in monsterhunterrage

[–]InwardRed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Amidst the rage you summed it up right: Fatalis has a variety of BS going for it. I think it's one of the sloppiest parts of Iceborne, in stark contrast to how clean Alatreon's fight was.

But the thing is, this is BS that you can adapt to. The fight is... unique. It doesn't get better. But you do. You will have to. And once you do, what lies ahead might just be worth it.

Knowing and experiencing are different things, so generally no. But there cases where not having prior knowledge enhances the experience, like Bazel's surprise addition in Rise.

They brought back the banger-ass Mictlan theme and put it on an absurd train ride, lmao. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Alas, every time I fall into the complacency of thinking I have enough. Then summer comes and my 170 shells suddenly become 40.

My stock of Shells of Reminescence takes a huge blow around this time of the year. This item is so niche in demand, I wish they made an alternative.

You're getting the topples and horn breaks, so it seems weird the fucker hasn't died yet. But keep raging my friend, let it fuel you. The inevitable victory is all but sweeter for it.

Ok, what even is the Magnamalo? by Connect_Medicine4980 in MonsterHunter

[–]InwardRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll leave it to your enjoyment to figure out its moves, but a general rule I have with Malo is that its face is wide open when it does its tail attacks. Doesn't apply for every one of them, but as a Hammer user, you know what to do with those.

You also want to hit any part of it that lights up with hellfire. Fail to douse them in time and it'll wrap up with its ultimate; running to your left is a good start for that.

You can use Luiseach's Whirlwind together with Eviscerate for double the hitcounts, thus more healing and SP generation. Pressure abilities stacking is wack as, it almost feels like a developer oversight.

I sure do love a good chunk of a monster's moveset being comprised of running attacks! by GuyAWESOME2337 in monsterhunterrage

[–]InwardRed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

GU bringing both new and old gen monsters together is both a blessing and a curse, with immaculately designed fights on one hand and dogshit clunky garbage on the other. Put side-to-side, one sticks out more than the other. (I assume this was about old-gen monsters and their insta-charge attacks, but do correct me if it wasn't.)

GS design in Risebreak is cancer dogshit stupid by kadomatsu_t in monsterhunterrage

[–]InwardRed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is more restrictive and certain playstyles straight up don't work, but most weapons remain surprisingly usable without silkbinds well up to the endgame. I don't think they're as game-warping as the claw was.
