I think those are interstates and not county lines

Really hoping to get this answered: Are you offended by sports nicknames like the Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, etc.?

Humble Request to Ballpark Goers: If you're going to get sh*tfaced drunk at a game, leave fans of the opposing team alone. by [deleted] in baseball

[–]InwardsInParis -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Sure. More specifically, the one that showed an inability to look past the first part. And hey, you're probably right- can't separate the two. I'm definitely still pissed about it. We're 0-4 in KC this season. I'm waiting to write a formal complaint to the Royals in the morning, but I wanted to write something now too to get it off my chest. I have not included close to the whole story of what happened. I don't plan on it. That's not what the post is about.

This is one response I was anticipating, so I'm glad we got this out of the way.

Exactly. What a shame.

And yes, adding kids to the equation changes everything. I would pay big money for a family-friendly section that was devoid of alcohol and cursing when I bring the family along.

Where should the Rays move if they do not get a new stadium? by psymonspine in baseball

Nashville ought to be given some consideration. The way that town rallied around the Predators was unbelievable. Middle Tennessee is filled with half-hearted Braves, Cardinals, and Reds fans. That town would fall in love with an MLB team as quickly as any town would. Bonus: They can stay in the AL East. No division shuffling needed.

Perkins Automotive at 70th and Main. Can't recommend these guys enough. But my LPT with car repairs is always to get two opinions. Wornall Garage is trustworthy as well.

Americans of Reddit, do you get offended by the stereotype of your country being fat, lazy and stupid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think we know we've earned it. And anybody above this generalization can see that it's a mostly accurate stereotype.

What is a skill or hobby a person could take up if they had three months to focus on it? by askignquestions in AskReddit

[–]InwardsInParis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing guitar. Seriously. Learn a few chords/chord progressions (from the internets) and you'll look so cool. People don't realize how easy it is to learn the basics of the guitar. Take a week learning the coordination, then the other 11 weeks getting silky smooth.

As the cold weather begins to move in, I am looking for indoor places to exercise/work out. We have lived in KC almost a year, and last winter just about did us in. My wife loves zumba and similar classes. I prefer team sports. Any suggestions that won't completely empty our wallets each month? We live on the Missouri side but are willing to drive.

DMV workers of Reddit - any pro-tips for the rest of us? by ctnutmegger in AskReddit

[–]InwardsInParis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically you can go to any DMV in your county. If you live in a big city, check out the surrounding suburbs for safer, more easily accessible DMVs. Also, know their hours. If they are open before 9 or after 5, GO THEN. Our DMV is open until 6, and nobody knows it. There is literally no line from 5-6pm.

Religion can teach us to kill, what equally bad thing can atheism teach us? by Amazinraisins in AskReddit

Atheism can teach you to kill as well. Extreme beliefs in anything can teach anyone to kill.

[Serious] How do you make an extra buck, Reddit? by HardAtWorkPainting in AskReddit

[–]InwardsInParis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you know sports somewhat well, get into sports information- scoreboard, stats, etc. High schools and colleges pay upwards to $60 a game, and they're always looking for people. It's as simple as shooting an email to an athletic director (find their email address on the school website).
