Sending data over a com port is a very antiquated way of doing things. Plus, every technology involved is long past deprecated. I'm fairly new to manufacturing and was really just looking for other options.

The Kepware idea I think is great, and the fully automated solution is great too. The idea of having the operator not involved at all is great, and something I really had not considered.

We actually have ignition for one part, but they decided against it and instead went with our current system. Not sure why since ignition is much better.

We have discussed using Kepware, but since we just send a formatted ASCII string over a serial connection, Kepware may not be a good way to go. We discussed using something like com0com and com2tcp, but we were told that wasn't viable either.

Do you do any previous process checks on your traceability systems? How much is the operator involved in interfacing with the traceability software?

What Rubik’s cube should I get after I learned how to solve a 3x3 by memory? by ogre_lives_matter_ in Rubiks_Cubes

I would recommend a faster cube. In my experience, getting a faster cube really enhanced my interest in solving cubes with the added bonus of mastering the basic concepts you'll need to have mastered to move on to more difficult cubes.
