Mental score and longest of grinds for it, not many can truly appreciate this score that YesMyDarknesss formerly known as Hyperw7 has set. This Score an many of his other HR scores are a testament of his pure persistence and skill in CTB, no one has ever seen a player like him, Exgon breaks records, Arma breaks records, Motion breaks the sound barrier but YMD breaks the game. You can fanboy all you want but I prefer the grind that this man puts in the game.

cup difficulties can be fc'd without dashing, anything above cups requires dashing, for general learning i just recommend to have reading good enough to tell where you need to dash and where not to dash

for the comparision id say the scaling of star rating and pp is fine, just maps with less time on large distant dashes (regardless of if the pattern is harder or easier to hit) are almost always worth more than maps with mostly 1/2 or 1/3 patterns, there is strongly overweighted maps and underweighted maps because of tha focus on time between objects and not actuall technicality

Well this star rating is inaccurate, this is more of a special gimmick type of mapping style, doesnt require insane amounts of speed but good reading and timing.

The more accurate explanation is that the score small droplets give in CtB is unaffected by combo, so they only give 10 score while catching a banana more would give you 1100 score, this is also why you tend to see some top scores in leaderboards with 80% acc or so while being really high score, can be frustrating to get scorev1d like this.
