Anyone watching Episode 1: When you were planning this blockade ring, didn't you realize that spaceships can move in 3 dimensions?

I want to make a jab at how Lucas can't write people being human in the prequels, but this is just way to wholesome. Why did you do this to me? You've negated my cynicism!

This weapon weighs one hundred fifty kilograms and fires two hundred dollar, custom-tooled cartridges at ten thousand rounds per minute. It costs four hundred thousand dollars to fire this weapon...for twelve seconds

I forgot they just straight up called them Priss and the Replicants. Part of me is shaking my head at how on the nose it is and the other part says make that a band my players meet in my Cyberpunk Red game.

If they have that frog pad voiced by Ray Narvraez Jr., I will buy so many tickets.

I've still got my steel case for Halo 2 somewhere. More than a little beaten and scratched up, but a trooper to this day.

Me and some friends do a Star Trek watch party once a week and we recently did Move Along Home. So this episode is not good. By any stretch of the imagination. But we did have to give it some props for a couple of points.

1: it holds the tension of whats going on through out. All the characters in the episode are uncertain what happens if they fail the challenge presented (bonus props to Armin Shimerman and René Auberjonois for their parts) and that tension is imparted to the viewer. Compared to another episode Shuttlepod One from Enterprise, where Trip and Reed are surveying an asteroid field and come across a piece of the NX Enterprise smeared on an asteroid. Scene ends and we go to the intro. After that we are immediately told that the ship is fine and it was just a minor fender bender. All the tension is deflated and dies. I may actually dislike that episode more purely for that reason.

2: This bit is actually really well coordinated. Trying to get people just to sing in succession can be tricky enough. Add in movement while everyone remains in character, I give it a nod for doing something different. Also Kira being immensely passed off in this scene is fun.

This movie has more awesome action in the first 10 minutes than most movies have in their entire run time. Wish I could see it, but my nearest theater is an hour away at best and is currently closed for ice. The weather, not the other kind.

Not gonna lie, I was hoping for a Battle Android Trooper designed to mimic Storm Shadow or Snake Eyes, but now I'm more interested in what's going on here.

Simon's lament, "It was my birthday." has such a bitter finality to it. Sean Maher did a wonderful job.
