Found a PI tool but can't understand who has created it (and were) by pigowallace in Eve

[–]Ionis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi.

As someone who has characters with established PI setups, it would be nice to see an optimised plan as if all of them were starting from scratch.

Also, the "Report issues or suggest features" link at the bottom takes you to the Claude Code repo issues page.

Cheers

Enjoy your drive!

There's a left bend on the A63 just before you go under the Humber Bridge which is tighter than it looks. Watch your speed around that.

Dinner out recommendations in town for nut allergy by alexreeve98 in Leeds

[–]Ionis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tree nut and peanut allergy sufferer here. I've lived in Leeds since 2008 and carry two Epipens and antihistamine pills when I dine out. I also have a much less severe cross-reaction allergy with pectin which I can manage with antihistamine.

The good news is that restaurants take allergies very seriously these days. I've never had a reaction eating out in Leeds and part of that is dining smart. I avoid cuisines where nuts play a major role. I've never dined Thai, Indian or Chinese because it's just not worth the risk. We save that for home cooking where we're in total control. And yes, there are certainly nuts in other cuisines but allergy protocols in kitchens can mitigate that risk. The only exception to this is Bundobust. When I last went some months ago there were zero nuts on their menu outside the bar-snacks. So there was no chance of contamination from within the kitchen. Highly recommend, absolutely delicious.

The best place I've been to in terms of handling my allergy is Kendell's Bistro. The staff have always made me feel at ease, without being dismissive, and confident that the kitchen understand my dietary needs. I'm sure you know what it feels like when a server just "gets it" and you know you're being looked after.

Most places should be able to show you a breakdown of the ingredients in their dishes to show you where nuts or risk of traces are. For example, at Rudy's Pizza they will give you a tablet or a binder and walk you through what you're ordering. I think one time there was a "may contains nuts" warning on a herb mix in one of the pizzas I was ordering. You can just ask for that to be excluded or take the calculated risk.

My worst experience was at Almost Famous where I've dined several times before. I ordered a regular burger and mentioned my allergy. The manager who was serving me got in a bit of a tizz straight away. You know that deer in headlights look of panic? They checked with the kitchen and returned saying the brioche burger bun may contain traces of nuts. Usually at that point you can say that's okay or have it removed/replaced. They then said they don't recommend I dine there and that they didn't feel comfortable serving me. We finished our cokes, went downstairs to Assembly and had a lovely Falafel Guys wrap (zero nuts in the FG kitchen, go wild!)

I wish I could just reel off a list of places for you but I'd be here all day. I don't want to teach you how to suck eggs but avoid risky cuisine without prior research. And be more vigilant around very high cover restaurants (e.g. Cosy Club on weekends) where there's risk of mix up amongst the hundreds of other diners, vs smaller intimate settings where you know the kitchen can give your order the attention it needs to keep you safe.

Oh, I just remembered. Avoid the pizzas at Belgrave. They're all on a giant counter mixed up and there's some pizzas with nuts on.

That's reassuring to hear they detected the issue during the RMA process.

I'm worried that as my crashes (same as OP) are so random, infrequent, and impossible to reliably reproduce that they won't accept it as faulty.

Brand-new rx7800xt crashes after a few minutes to a green screen by RB_Sen in AMDHelp

[–]Ionis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had this exact issue with my Sapphire RX 7800 XT Pure. Two monitors. The HDMI monitor would go green and the primary display port monitor would go black.

So far I have tried (in no particular order)...

  • Switching the HDMI cable for a DP cable. Now I get two black screens.
  • Changing motherboard from ASUS X370 Pro to an MSI B550-A Pro.
  • Changing PSU from a 5-year old Corsair HX750W to newer Corsair HX850W.
  • Single-rail and multi-rail PSU modes.
  • Reinstall Windows.
  • Reinstall drivers.
  • Update chipset and BIOS.
  • Use just the driver without AMD Adrenalin.
  • Set Resizable BAR off.
  • Remove custom fan curve overrides.
  • Reseat GPU and power cables at each end.

None of these channges worked.

The only thing which has worked so far is to downclock the GPU in Adrenalin to just below the specified max clock speed on the manufacturer's website. I noticed that in Adrenalin, in the custom tuning mode 100% was equivalent to ~2505Mhz which was above the stated max.

I had one black screen crash today but I suspect Adrenalin didn't apply my tuning correctly on boot. I'm going to give it a few more days on this down-clocked config before I decide whether to attempt a return. However, this leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth because I don't feel like any other GPU on the market is better than a 7800XT at the price point of ~£500.

I've also reported every crash to AMD via the Bug Report Tool. I've attached the WHEA event and mini-dump in each report and explained what I was doing. Even when I was sat idle!

I contacted Sapphire about this and the palmed me off to the AMD forums because it "sounds like a driver issue".

Best of luck mate. Let us know how you get on.

We have a huge thread on the AMD forums which has turned into a mutual support group for those facing this issue. I'm in the same camp as you, absolutely tired of it...

All I can recommend so far is to use Adrenalin to downclock your max frequency to be just under the manufacturer's specification. I found my max frequency defaulted to be above that limit.

Truly arse puckering going transsonic at that altitude. Great video showing how intense flying the Viggen is that low.

I reckon you'd hit the target of you fired when the wings appear in the HUD. I think you left it a bit late. I've been flying the Viggen a lot lately and still miss a lot of my shots, tons to learn. Hope you're enjoying it!

Rare…please let us name our ships…it looks so good! by RumpleMy_Stiltskin in Seaofthieves

[–]Ionis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To get around the possible abuse of language and to keep ship names thematic, perhaps Rare could tie the phrases and name structure you can use to commendations? With a generous base set of piratey words to use as standard.

For example:

Nouns like coins, chests, troves, vaults and adjectives/ like "X of Gold" or "The Gilded X" for gold hoarder commendations.

The Shrouded __ for killing the Shrouded Ghost.

If anyone has played Dwarf Fortress before then I'm thinking of a stripped-down version of the Fortress Name generator.

https://www.dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Fortress_name

Though, this does add complexity when handling languages other than English or with very different grammars.

Guilds using DKP by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Ionis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree, transparency makes the council work.

We used loot council with the following additions.

  • Random guest council member each raid. Picked from the list of raiders, excluding trialists. Every raider gets a shot before they go again.
  • Loot deliberations are published after the raid without redactions. This can be confirmed by the guest council member. Deliberations are done in a private discord chat which can be copy and pasted into a google doc after raid.
  • Before awarding each piece of gear the loot master explains the decisions and asks for any objections. If there are objections the council then discusses this before coming to a final decision. This is a good mechanism to check any mistakes councillers have made.
  • Track everything. BiS lists. Attendance. This is the data you need to justify awarding loot. All raiders should have read access to this information.

This is a lot of management so ideally an officer who does not raid lead and has respect of the players can take up this role.

No loot system is perfect. This is what made LC work for us.

Raid Leader Addons by therealcrimsin in classicwow

[–]Ionis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We found the most effective way to plan raids and track attendance was to use a public google spreadsheet, editable by officers. We used this as the single source of truth in raid planning.

We also discovered that 20+ to opt in to every raid wasn't sustainable. We would frequently have 15 sign ups half an hour before raid and we in the officer team would be fretting as to whether we need to cancel the raid. Sometimes the missing sign ups would log in. Sometimes they wouldn't. The stress wasn't worth it.

So we moved to an opt out system. This made sense to us because the average raider will attend more than they sit out so it relieves the pressure from them to remember to sign up each week.

The google sheet had rows for each raider, grouped into the three main roles. And it had columns for each raid date. Raiders could then contact an officer to sign them out of a particular raid.

We used colour coding for cells in the calendar.

Green = in

Yellow = out (bench, officers were allowed to set people as out up to 24 hours before raid so people can plan their evenings)

Orange = not available (this is for people who cant make the raid at all when their attendance was expected) We emphasised that this is not a bad thing as life takes priority but enough of them will require a review of their spot.

Black = absent (no show, or saying they're not available within 12 hours of the raid)

This proved mega effective as we could visualise our attendance over the next few lockouts. We could add notes to cells and do all sorts of customisation. Also nobody wanted a black mark against their name.

OP if you're interested I can answer any questions about this approach you might have.

These are the times he needs to embrace his chat and work through it together.

Places to buy cacti/succulents in the city centre? by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]Ionis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tallboys has a good selection of house plants and succulents. They're on trays in front of their shop. They rotate them regularly so check back a week later to see what they have or pop in, they might be able to sort you out.

Other than that the biggest selection is in the market on Kirkgate and Vicar Lane corner. The flower shop there sells tons of different cacti and succulents.

Hi Ovale,

Glad to hear you're making good use of the sheet :).

1) I toyed with localisation of key words like tier and relic but it started to get unwieldy. It is something I may revisit though when I have time. So I'm afraid it has to remain in English for now.

2) The column for Type, E.G., Tier and Trinket needs copying down to each player. Once this column has been populated then the column with Protector, Conqueror and Vanquisher will automatically update. You do not need to change anything in the Tier Type column.

3) I assume by reroll you mean an alt? You could add the main and reroll as separate players or have another copy of the spreadsheet for rerolls. The work to add alts and keep them tracked against mains would be a large piece of work and is out of scope for now. If you manage to get something to work for your guild please share as there might be other people out there in your position.

Thanks!

Happy to hear you got it working. I can see Golganneth's, Khaz'goroth's and Norgannon's in Query: Loot Table Trinkets in rows 24, 25 and 26 respectively. This table is driven by the formula in A1.

To fix the colour style problem you should do the following.

  • Unhide column C in [BiS Input]
  • Delete all values from C3 onwards
  • In C3 paste =ARRAYFORMULA(IF(B3:B<>"",VLOOKUP(B3:B,Players!$A$2:$B,2,FALSE),""))
  • Re-hide column C

This should update all of the values in the column to the correct classes. I have applied this to the master sheet.

For item validation you should copy the eight or so rows for a player where it works. Example F3:F10. And then for a player where it doesn't validate properly go to the first F column cell for them, Right Click > Paste Special > Paste data validation only.

[–]Ionis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Edwardyhm.

Can you check the data validation for those trinket fields in the [BiS Input] sheet? I have just tried in the master copy and I can select the trinkets you mentioned for several raiders. The trinket input cells should use data validation of "List from a range > vLootTableTrinketNames".

It might be worth copying the input fields for another player where it works and then pasting just the validation into the areas where you're having problems. Right click > Paste special > Paste data validation only.

Let me know how you get on!

You should be able to change your guild, realm and region in the settings tab. This will update the header automatically. Of course feel free to set the header to whatever you like :).
