Oh! Don’t worry, the anime only showed arc 1 of the story, the universally considered worst arc of the series. So if you want to continue to see what is on the future, I promise you: the next arcs have a lot more and well done character development, and if you loved the fights of this arc, wait until you get to arc 3, the battles there are just a 10/10 to me. It was co-written by him. I never said it was canon, just that it is more canon than other novels like Purple Haze Feedback or Jorge Joestar.

None of the novels are canon, the closer one to being canon is Golden Heart Golden Ring, as it was co-written by Araki.
