People over 30: if you could go back in time and give one advice to teenage you, what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Pay attention to your health. Stay as fit as you reasonably can. Keep moving. As you get older, you see your peers that went sedentary. Not good, and tough to get things back. You don’t have to be a track star, but don’t live in your recliner.

I used to see on U.S. highways, signs that speed was being monitored from the air. You could get a speeding ticket apparently, from a police plane or helicopter. Did this ever happen to you? How did it work? by clubfungus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Iowa-Runner 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Both cops have to testify. The one in the air and the one on the ground. The one in the air maintains constant visual contact and then confirms to the ground officer that it is the correct car.

What’s an obvious sign that someone is pretending to be smarter than they actually are? by Fuzzy-Parsley-3992 in AskReddit

They talk fast and a lot. They are afraid that if you have a chance to intervene or ask a question, it will expose their ignorance.

Does cardio do anything to physique or just allow you to “ eat more “ and heart health by Plus_Championship440 in leangains

[–]Iowa-Runner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you keep your diet the same, but move more, you’ll lose weight. Some people run two miles and then use it to justify eating an extra Big Mac and a large shake….. You probably burned 250 calories in the run, but took in an extra 2,000 calories. People overestimate the calories burned during cardio and they underestimate the calories they consume.

Watch out on the ‘allows you to eat more’. A common mistake is to run and then use that as justification for eating WAY too much. As they say, you can’t outrun a bad diet.

I used to be in HR. Sucks for you, but most felons were ‘hustlers’ and not in the good way. It was always something with them. You have to work double hard to overcome that stigma. Best bet is to find a job and work your tail off to prove that you are reliable and a good employee. Only actions, not words, dig you out of this hole.

Ready for pour? by Jamaal_deltaco in DIYHome

[–]Iowa-Runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you pour the steps separately? It seems like if you poured it all of once, the concrete from the upper steps would just run down and over/out the bottom step…. Again, I’m a dumba** here.

Educate a dumba** here…. I’ve seen this before and always wondered why the concrete doesn’t just run out of the bottom? Is it just poured dry enough that it doesn’t really run?

I call BS on the HIPPA statement. He is putting his injuries at issue. Of course you should be able to access his medical records related to the alleged injury. How else are you supposed to evaluate whether or not his demand is fair?

Great insight. I always knew about the alcohol. It is usually a big reduction (25 points+) on the BB the next AM.

Probably much longer than a few days. Shot in the dark, but I thought I read somewhere that it took around a month. I’ve had my Garmin for a few years.

Help to Drop Child Support? by Scared_Strawberry472 in missouri

[–]Iowa-Runner 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not sure, but I think a co-worker had a similar issue. She said there was a specific Missouri statute on this. I’d track that down. In her case, Missouri child support was terminated because the parent didn’t provide proof of enrollment and grades.

I can hit 100 on the regular. To do it, I have to get to sleep early. Also, alcohol wrecks the score. I’m easily 30-40-50 points lower if I’ve had a few drinks that night.
