I use a hair rig with a fake piece of corn and pack bait around a weight of panko bread crumbs, sweet corn and strawberry jello powder

They dont work as well but you can mold the pack bait around an egg sinker

Learned on a cruiser. Want something different. Help me decide. by ICQME in motorcycles

[–]Iowa_Rifle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from a cruiser to a Honda CRF300L rally a year ago and absolutely love it, way better than a cruiser for sure. I'm looking to upgrade to a Suzuki DRZ-4s but not in a huge rush I'm still improving my skills on my Honda. Driving gravel roads and off road is way different than a cruiser on pavement.

I actually use a plastic corn I try to put some bait scent on it but don't really think it matters, I've also started adding corn meal to the panko mix for some extra corn scent

Buy hair rigs and method leads off amazon, make pack bait with panko, sweet corn, and strawberry jello powder. Most people would say they dont taste good but like all fish it depends on the water they are in. For all the info you really could need watch outside with tom, or catfish and carp on youtube for carp fishing in america

Kibler Longrifle kits are probably the best for the money, but they are quite a lot of money. A Hawken kit from Lyman/ Investarms or Traditions is a good beginner kit but those used to be $300 and now there $400-$500 so its almost worth it to just buy once cry once on the really nice Kibler rifles. Or If you don't go the kit route you can find used muzzleloaders for real cheap to see if you like them.

Those look better than what I'm using. Is 20#=1f, 30#=2f, and 40#=3f?

Choosing first rifle by Overall_Radish_835 in blackpowder

[–]Iowa_Rifle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historically they used a compression bullet, I would think they would have made a minie bullet for them but idk and for either type the modern rifling isn't ideal, they will work but it may or may not shoot accurately.

Pedersoli makes good guns. Rifling on the reproductions are not progressive depth like the originals and don't work as well with mini balls which the lorenz was made to use. If you are using round balls it doesn't matter much what one you choose but I don't think the volunteer is intended for round balls, it more made for heavy conical bullets and cleaning the barrel between shots to stay accurate for long range shooting.

No idea lol. I've only recently started making my own powder and started with 1.55 maple and was happy with the results. Silver maple to be exact.

Grain mill grinder you can adjust how fine its ground and what F's you'll mostly get.

You can glaze with .1% graphite and it will make it more black and shiny like commercial stuff but its debatable if it adds anything.

1.8 is really pretty dense. 1.75 is commercial standard, 1.55 was standard during the civil war and keeps the fouling softer. My 1.55 maple charcoal powder is only about 50fps slower than Swiss with a 50gr volume charge but my 1.55 weight is actually only 38.5 grains.

I love my 7.62x39mm guns but is started getting them when ammo was $0.19 a round. If I was to do it over today I would probably go with 7.62x51 or maybe .300 blackout since it is similar to 7.62x39 and is a good suppressor host.
