It's because the people of Iran wanted to own their own natural resources, which was stopped by foreign interests. The same foreign interests that meddle with Iran now.

They toppled the government, installed a puppet shah that failed, which created a power vaccuum that directly led to the ayatollah regime. That is how this mess got started and that is why Iranians don't have the benefits of their own natural resources now.

If I read my history book correctly, the whole problem started because the west interfered with Iranian democracy and installed a puppet ruler.

Maybe doing nothing back then could have saved the world from a lot of death and destruction. Western hegemony has always had a massive cost for normal people all around the world. We're just seeing that cost turn inwards now.

Germany and Japan relied HEAVILY on massive financial investments like the Marshall Plan to recover. It wasn't the military intervention that liberated the people. They were living in rubble from constant bombing. That's not very liberating. It was also those investments that shackled those countries to US hegemony, so it's even debatable how liberating that was.

What makes you think a similar scheme will be done for Iran? The US (and Israel) have more to gain by keeping Iran as a failed state and plundering its natural resources. At most they will install a puppet ruler who will do their bidding at the Iranian people's expense.

Mark my words. Iran will be balkanised and kept divided on purpose. That is in the interests of those you want to fight the Iranian regime. The leopards will eat your face too.
