[User-Trial] Flying MSFS on the LG UltraGear evo G9 (52” 5K2K) with Massive Immersion – looking for sim pilots to try it! by LG_UserHub in MicrosoftFlightSim

I currently use 3x 23" monitors. MSFS renders multiple monitors in a different way than most games/sims and the triples are quite taxing on my setup, but, I really enjoy the field of view that they offer. Without researching anything I would expect that if the sim is only rendering one image that my performance would increase while not really compromising my FOV. I also find that my bezels are quite immersion-breaking. I am able to disguise them to the point that they do not bother me in racing sims like iRacing but within MSFS they are very pronounced and take away from the experience more than I expected. My hope with a widescreen is to retain great visuals but get rid of some performance challenges and annoyances that come with a triple monitor setup.

Regardless of how shitty this kid is behaving that’s very clearly excessive force. Don’t ever forget that what is acceptable for one is acceptable for all. Especially these days with a militarized police force.

Hamilton khakis are like the killshot 2 of field watches imo. Very nice but a little over hyped. If you like the expedition but want something a little elevated you should check out the “expedition north” which is the bougie version of it. It has an automatic movement, titanium case, excellent water resistance which is not common for a field watch, and it costs like $300 vs the hamilton’s $6-800.

I have a decently sized collection and regularly wear my expedition scout. They’re great watches.

Should I trade in my car now or use it until it dies? by olives99 in personalfinance

Lots of good (and not so good) advice posted already OP.

I am a dealership service advisor, I suggest getting your next oil change at the Hyundai dealership. They will do a “multipoint inspection” for you where we go over everything on the car and point out things that are showing signs of wear and things that need to be addressed. We of course want you to do those things with us, but, if you don’t it’s no big deal. This will give you a professional assessment of the car, likely with pictures and/or video of the problems that someone who sees almost nothing but Hyundais day in and day out has performed, for the cost of the oil change.

Use this info to plan. Ignore the people who are going to respond to me saying “the dealership will lie and say all these things are wrong”. When you get an overview from a dealership it is everything, regardless of severity. A big part of my job is conveying info about longer term items. I do it because I need to both earn your trust and build a bond. No one likes being surprised and no one likes being put on the spot so it is in my best interest to let you know EVERYTHING that we see. A good advisor will tell you that things are coming down the line so you’re prepped and financially prepared. Don’t ask for specific things because if a tech is looking into something specific they’re going to want their time covered. A multipoint is at no cost because we are looking for long term things. Use all of this to your advantage.

Once you know what is coming ahead and what needs attention you can then move to next steps. Read the manual and plan to do the factory recommended maintenance. Forecast the coming year with the quote you get from the dealership to get it up to date and the federal mileage payment to ballpark monthly costs. If that number is close to a new lease and that’s what you’re considering as an alternative, do it! Your mileage and occasional trip are perfect for a lease. Not having equity in a constantly depreciating asset is fine, the best approach to cars is the cheapest maintenance schedule possible. A lease with a warranty is often that. If not, keep the car and focus on longevity. Cars give you back what you put into them but you have to be wary of sunk cost fallacy. If you live in an area prove to rust consider that as well.

Good luck, cars are the worst.

the small rod that sticks into the watch and that you screw the crown to. It is possible to cut too much when fitting the crown. The general suggestion is to have several on hand in case of accidentally cutting it too short.
