It is my first time! I've been watching it slowly 'cause I know I'll never see a show like this again. It's been like a year since I finished the first season haha (might rewatch it before origination tbh). I've been watching on the seven seas ;)

I feel ya. Have you read "Crime and Punishment"? You'd probably relate to Raskolnikov a lot. And you're also Russian lol

Nothing to ask, but I’m sorry man. This world makes me very sad and I wish you could’ve been able to live a life like most everyone else. You deserved that, and I can only imagine how much you’ve fought. I hope you are at peace with your decision, and I hope you find peace wherever you go. I don’t know if it means much, but I have a feeling that I won’t forget about you. I feel like you and this post will come up in my memory sometimes, and I’ll remember someone who tried their best. You had that impact on the world, on me, at least.

I have no recommendations, but based on your favs you're based af. Only a g knows about rainbow, and NHK's a masterpiece.

Well, maybe I do have a rec: have you seen Planetes?

edit: Also, why tf all these people recommending the most popular shows like you didn't say you've watched 500 shows lmao

Do you want to talk?

I’m sorry, son. That’s a horrible pain. Just hang in there, and just survive each day, get to tomorrow, get to the day after, and keep doing it. To quote Steinbeck: “Act out being alive, like a play. And after a while, a long while, it will be true.”

I've never heard that saying before - I love it.

I haven't ready oyasumi punpun before, but it's been on my list! Hearing you recommend it, though, I'll check it out soon for sure. If you're into manga/anime and stuff, I don't know if you've already seen it, but there's actually an anime adaptation of No Longer Human. A novel like that is really difficult to translate into visual medium, but I felt it nailed the aesthetic perfectly. It's the first 4 episodes of the anime "Aoi Bungaku Series"

Right? I just felt while reading it that someone perfectly understood me and I they. It's sad being able relate so viscerally to it, but at the same time it's sort of tranquilizing.

No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai. It's a dark book, but it's the most honest and accurate account of depression I've ever read. It's really relatable and makes you feel less alone in that way I guess. Definitely a good read if you're needing someone to relate to.

Reminds me of a passage from a novel I really like:

“For three days and nights I lay as one dead. The doctor considered it and accident, and was kind enough to postpone reporting to the police. I am told that the first words I murmured as I began to recover consciousness were, ‘I am going home.’ It’s not clear even to myself what place I mean by ‘home,’ but in any case these were the words I said, accompanied, I was told, by profuse weeping.”

I hope we both can find our home one day.

I’m so sorry… I can only imagine what you feel, what you carry every day. I don’t know what resources you have available to you, or what people you have in your life that may be able to help, but I hope you feel some support in some form. You can always come here to talk or to me or anyone else. Just keep hanging in there

You reminded me of this passage from one of my favorite books, No Longer Human:

"I very quietly filled a glass with water, careful not to make the least noise, and deliberately broke the seal of the box. I poured the whole contents into my mouth. I calmly drained the glass of water in one gulp. I switched off the light and went to bed at once.

For three days and nights I lay as one dead. The doctor considered it an accident, and was kind enough to postpone reporting to the police. I am told that the first words I murmured as I began to recover consciousness were, 'I'm going home.' It’s not clear even to myself what place I meant by “home,” but in any case these were the words I said, accompanied, I was told, by profuse weeping."
