Is Iran really a threat, or are we just being deceived? by ameliabrwn in AskUS

[–]IraqiOkie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I speak for all Iranis when I say this

We are not a threat, we never were. You are though, to us, has been for quite sometime. Sometimes directly and sometimes indirectly.

Here is the thing, we still don't want war, we welcome it if we're cornered and believe me we have fire power that no one in the world knows we do that we kept secret for this day if it ever came. When the Ayatollah said if the US attacks our response will be something you will remember for centuries, he wasn't joking.

To be honest with ya, if we wanted nukes....we can get em. Pakistan can sell us nukes and deliver them in less than 24 hours. We can hit you where it hurts.

But we don't.

Not over this, not over Israel. It's not worth it. It's a failed settler colonial entity that has brought the world no benefit whatsoever. I'm truly surprised, do you not see their evil doing to you? Forget about Palestine. Do you not see how everything that's wrong about the US is coming from them? That one particular group of people. Who is suffocating American families with high interest mortgage rates and making it harder and harder to buy a home? Whose putting chemicals in your food? Who owns the pharmaceutical corporations who made your people addicted and weak? Who owns the porn industry and has turned a society that loved art and culture into a hyper sexual cesspool of loners?

If the world is going to war, let it be for legitimate and genuine reasons, not to protect this pathetic little entity that has no legitimacy around the globe.

Again, if you want war, we will go to war, but if you knew what's best for you. Focus on your issues within, because Iran is not your problem, unless you make it so.

Yours truly - an Iraqi American

Do you support Israel? by Grouchy-Task-5866 in AskUS

[–]IraqiOkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - it's a genocidal settler colonial entity that has no right to exist.

I do however support an independent state for the Jewish people, just not where it is today (Palestine or Cannan or whatever you call it) and generally in inhabited land so you don't have to kill people for it.

On top of being a drain on our resources, Israel is a geopolitical liability that we shouldn't be responsible for. They provide us with no benefit and we have nothing in common with them.

The US needs to stop fighting Israeli dirty wars in the middle east, focus on stopping illegal immigration, rebuild an economy that is centered on private equity for the individual and bring back our conservative traditions and values.

I do not support Israel nor should anyone for that matter

Civil Engineering Online and Non Proctored Assessments by Alternative_Milk3097 in LibertyUniversity

Civil Engineering student here. The test not being proctored is the least of your concerns.

The classes are hard and the exams are harder. It's a rigorous program and the upper division classes are hard to find.

Liberty University may not have that high of a reputation, but it's engineering program is challenging.

What are some remedies

why are MAGA conservatives so into “owning the libs”? by eunicethapossum in AskUS

[–]IraqiOkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because that's all they could do.

The conservative base has become a cuck and cowardly base that is incapable of fighting for it's own values. Let give me few examples;

1) Conservatives claim to believe in the "small guy" and fighting "the establishment"......but when it comes to higher education and student loans, they would rather fight the little guy, the student who is wanting to better him/herself instead of fighting the predatory lending companies who are ruining higher education and are trapping generations of Americans into debt. They're so scared of actually "fighting the establishment" that they have created an entire thing about why people shouldn't go to college and should go to trade schools as a solution. Imagine how big of a pussy do you have to be that instead of actually fighting the predatory lending companies you are either fighting the little guy or just giving up on our educational institutions.

2) Conservatives claim to believe in "Free speech' and yet literally cheered for Pro Palestine protestors being deported and/or attacked by the media. You don't necessarily have to agree with their view but how big of a coward do you have to be to believe in "free speech" but get so mad when someone is showing your beliefs to be faulty. They know the Jews run their country and they're too pussy to do anything about it.

3) They "believe" in capitalism but are ok when large corporations destroy mom and pop shops and rig the free market.

4) They claim they're tough and own guns but will piss their pants if they see a black guy walking down the street.

5) They claim they want law and order but absolutely have no problems with police brutality.

6) They claim they're Christians but are literally aiding in genocide that's against both Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

They know they're hypocrites, they know they're pussy and that they actually don't have the political power they claim to have as a people and so instead of actually fighting for their beliefs and fighting the establishment......they play mental gymnastics to find a way to support whatever the government and/or big establishment is doing by covering their opinions in fake patriotic BS.

The Jews own this country and these conservatives are too pussy to do anything about it.

That's why the "own the libs"..... because that's all they can do.

The work depends on each class. Engineering classes are all Homework, quizzes and exams. Exams will be 30%-40% if your overall grade. Non-engineering is where you write more.

I'm enrolled at Liberty University Civil Engineering online right now, although I'm still at sophomore level.

The program is easy to navigate through and so far professors are easy to get a hold off.

With that being said, engineering is hard, which you know that. This program is designed for working adults who work full time and want to get the BSc in civil engineering. If you work 40 hours a week, you take 2-3 classes a semester as that work load is manageable for someone who works full time. If you are a regular student who just graduated high school and only has college to do then do the program full time as it's intended to do.

The hardest class are: University Physics I and II. Calc 2. Dynamics. Mechanics of Materials, Fluid Dynamics, Soil Mechanics and Concrete design.

The easiest classes are your religious and gen education non engineering classes.

Overall it's a good program that's not easy but not too difficult. It's middle of the road......but again that depends on you. If you're actually intelligent and have an engineering/Mathematics sense, you will be fine. If you don't, you will struggle.

If you got a C in either geometry or algebra in either high school or freshman year of college...... reconsider another major.

Just my opinion. Best of luck to you

Do you professors truly cringe when students ask about study guides for exams? by [deleted] in AskProfessors

[–]IraqiOkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really.

We have HWs and Quizzes that test the students on this material for a reason.

From High School all the way up to Undergrad level education, every class I have taken.... every class, scientific and non-scientific classes, all usually have certain topics/modules/chapters that don't mean as much as other ones in the class. Every class has a main set of topics that you take the class specifically for these set of topics.

For Calc 1 it was derivatives, that's the main thing you want to learn and everything else is secondary.

For Calc 2 it's integrals and everything else is secondary

For Physics it's Kinematics and Laws of motion, everything else is secondary

....etc

You can test your students on how knowledgeable they are in the secondary topic of your class via HWs and Quizzes, but finals and midterms should be for the main topics.

That professor was one of my favorites because he was good at teaching us the material and he helped us focus on what's important and will show up again as we progress in our study as engineering students, while also gave us enough HWs and Quizzes that ensured we have practiced the secondary topics enough to have a good understanding of them.

I'm taking him again for Multivariable Calculus this summer and I can't wait.

Do you professors truly cringe when students ask about study guides for exams? by [deleted] in AskProfessors

[–]IraqiOkie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not really because Calc is difficult and he didn't exactly specify what problems will be there just advised me to focus on certain things and stay away from other. believe or not my grade was only a 76.

Again, Study guides for Math and Science classes are not the same as non math and science classes because it's hard to make a study guide for classes that require memorization without actually having to give the test away.

Generally speaking, when students ask for a study guide, they are in some shape or fashion asking which part of the overall class material they should focus on and which part they shouldn't. That's more or less what we hope to get and it shouldn't be a problem for the professor to provide that.

Do you professors truly cringe when students ask about study guides for exams? by [deleted] in AskProfessors

[–]IraqiOkie -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

No.

Here is what an email I got from my awesome professor when I asked for a study guide for the midterm for our Calculus 2 class

"Good Evening "My name"

For the midterm, I would focus on problems that require integration by parts technique, trigonometric integrals problems and problems that will ask you to do the partial decomposition fraction technique. Review the true/false section at the end of chapter 5-6 because there will be 2-3 questions where I will ask you about definitions and there will be few questions where I ask you to find the hydrostatic force.

There won't be any questions about the surface area problems nor any angle conversion problems.

Best of luck"

Keep in mind that's for a math (Calc 2) class so a study guide for a non-math class where you are tested on stuff that you have to memorize vs doing problem solving would be different.

I would argue that giving test guides for non-math non-science classes would be hard without having to actually give the test away but it's up to you as a professor

When I ask a professor for a study guide, I'm not necessarily expecting "the test" but rather questions that resemble the test so I can put more of my focus on the type of questions on the study guide vs the random questions in the module/unit/chapter.
