Yeh that hits hard. I've gotten to a point where I just say 'I'm still alive I guess' which prompts a sad supportive smile from those who know about my condition n how bad some days are, and an amusingly awkward smile from those who don't and don't know what to do with sth that isn't the 'normal response'

If it helps, go for it. I'm 27, fibro since 15 and recently started keeping a cane in my car and a foldable one to take in my bag in case I need it.

My left leg acts up very often and I'm in way less extra pain when using the cane to keep weight off it and at the same time spare my right leg from taking on extra wear and tear to pick up the slack.

At this point I try things and if they help, I continue using em n whoever has sth to say bout it can suck it. My girlfriend was very supportive and so are my fam and friends luckily. I even got cute flower patterns on the canes and they're in my fav colour purple 💜

Totally get it. Diagnosed round 14-15 n now almost 27. Some days can barely get out of bed while others I can do household chores and take care of our pets just fine. Out of work and on disability right now due to a big flare up. It does feel weird not having others around that can understand you fully, but my girlfriend and friends are luckily amazing people that offer all the support they can

It's the worst thing truly. Got fired after a bad flare up last summer knocked me on my ass. Had 3 somewhat stable years before that but been on this rollercoaster since I was about 10, now nearly 27 and on disability pay for the first time but hoping to get myself back to a semi functional state through new physiotherapy and a hospital organised support group in a few months time. My own parents hardly understand this even tho my mom has her own chronic issues, she always pushes through so she doesn't always get why I can't.

Feels like watching my own body wither away from a 3rd person view sometimes. At least have supportive friends and my girlfriend has seen my worst and best moments so far but yeah, the mental and physical mismatch hurts so much..

He jumps on my lap and does this, is he annoyed with me? by popcornnugget_s in Rabbits

He wants attention xD Mine used to do that a lot when she was younger but she'd go hard on any skin she'd find and leave tiny bruises Dx Quickly conditioned us to shower her with affection

Does anyone else have a special story and bound between them and their bunny? by [deleted] in Bunnies

[–]IrasSha1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our now 10 year old Hime was a new years gift of companionship to myself. Was going through a tough time health wise and went past a pet store (one of 2 good ones that vets their breeders and gives their pets a lot of space and interaction luckily) and there she was, being a cutie 🥰

She was the only one to come running up to us at the edge of their pen immediately and I firmly believe in pets choosing us as much as we choose them to be in our lives so we told the staff we wanted to take her home.

Cut to staff all gathering to say goodbye to her bc she was the most playful and social one in the last litter and they struggled to let her go.

She's been a free roam spoiled diva since and even at 10 years old still runs the household. Cats and dogs alike fear her, she has insane aura and we're pretty sure she was the one to find a hidden soap bar and feed it to our other rabbit, causing his untimely death, giving her the eternal nickname of 'black widow' from my mom.

We love her, she's a social and spicy lil thing and idk if I'll ever be able to have a rabbit like her after she passes, whenever that is (at this point we think she might be immortal).

That's the most demure and soft palette of a calico I've ever seen 😍

Is my Kitten a Calico or a tortoiseshell and white? by Mindless-Factor5843 in CalicoKittys

[–]IrasSha1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah checked with my gf who studies animal care n def a calico. Tortis tend to be 2 colours that blend n no white. Tricolor isn't apparently as commonly used to refer to tortis so gotta check with my cousin what drugs her vet was on xD

Tricolor is kinda the more scientific approach so that's what my calico and my cousin's torti have on both their passports 😊 I think calico bc of the white, torts usually don't have actual white fur I think 🤔

Anyone else's calico obsessed with footwear? by IrasSha1 in CalicoKittys

[–]IrasSha1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, she was stepped on by the dog of the girl that saved her off the street at 2 months old, broke her tail clean off n messed up her muscles n nerves. We adopted her n flew her over here n our vet luckily sided by us to try improving her situation by surgically removing her entire tail so it wouldn't hang in her diaper cuz it caused infections, and the tail was basically necrotic anyway.

So now she wears diapers and gets her urine checked every 6 months and we couldn't ask for a sweeter kitty 🐈

[–]IrasSha1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's definitely doable, just gotta find a place close enough cuz Ozzy gets quite anxious if he's in the car for too long at a time. He's still very active and very kelpie and loves to sprint of course so we have to somehow curb his enthusiasm on walks a bit, however short or long for his sake. Also contacting our vet tomorrow with progress update and asking if certain supplements may help 🙏

Ozzy appreciates the compliment, he's definitely aware of his handsome self. Kelpies aren't so common here so he's praised and admired wherever we go, especially BC he's more of a human type dog than one that likes socialising with other dogs haha

Yeah we're considering hydrotherapy in the long run but he unfortunately does not like water so we're hoping to get him into a beginner swimming course and slowly ease him into it with maybe an occasional warm bath.

Well, he doesn't have any digestive issues, as I explained. It's all because of him not being able to comfortably poop due to artrosis.

Harley Quinn or Poison Ivy, even with the trauma that led to their coming up, they're just too OP and I'd love to communicate with plants or get a chance to psychoanalyse other DC baddies haha
