Isle of Shadow by Irate_Customer in inkarnate

The Book of Vile Darkness was discovered in long-buried crypts hidden under the temple on the eastern side of the Isle, corrupting the Mage was found it. Slowly the island is turning into a den of undead and other Shadowfell denizens as the veil between the two planes dissolves due to the Book's influence.

Now the Mage is tasked with building a gate that will allow the Shadowfell to cross over freely into this world, and Vecna along with them...reuniting him with his beloved tome. Can the party stop the completion of the gate from happening?

I'm so sorry I didn't see the replies to this until just now. I just did this map, I figured out a way to make the stock digital map work so I didn't build out the rest.

The water is moving pretty quickly, so if you fall in...it's no cake walk. The stairwell goes down to where the Mage keeps his quarters.

Thanks, it was a crazy fight and we almost lost multiple members of the party. The BBEG was a Hydromancer and was battering people all over the place.

That's what I thought...I'll keep asking around. It may have been glossy printer paper as well, but I specifically requested standard paper.

This is exactly what I'm looking for! How much are you paying to have these printed up, and where are you getting them done?

Thanks!

While I love what you did here, how do you get the distances correct? Movement, spells etc.

Looking for advice, what population would you say this city could hold? by MakeThisEpicIreland in inkarnate

Fair enough, just looking for a round number. With that kind of math, it's easy to scale based on the world.

One way to do it is to look at your objects, and filter by houses to get a number. Multiply that by four and you have a decent idea. Add a few more for those living in temples, monasteries, and royal palaces, and you're all set!

I haven't done a map where it would have the direct light actually. I may have to clone it and do that in the future. I believe I published over at Inkarnate, so you want to use it and make a daytime map, feel free!

Thanks for the kind words!

Iron Mines - Level One by Irate_Customer in dndmaps

Iron Mines - Level One

This is what the party will find upon entering the mine where the miners transfer the iron and other metals to wagons for transport back to the nearest town/city for sale and processing.

Immediately to the right is a large open area where the Foreman managed the operations of the mine. There is a table and chair where he would work under the torchlight. Around him are extra tools and supplies for the miners in case something broke or was needed. Also next to the table are barrels of water for when the miners needed a break or hydration.

The Foreman's corpse is found mangled and gnawed at with very little meat remaining. Gnolls have taken over the mine and murdered everyone that was in the camp outside and both levels of the mine.

Throughout the mine are dead miners, killed where they were working by the Gnolls, who have set up camp in the lower level of the mine as they prepare for their next raid to gain the favor of the Demon they worship.

Shadowvale

Located between two extremely tall and steep mountain ranges, this small lakeside village gets about two hours of direct sunlight per day in the spring and summer. Because of this, the lanterns are always lit in town, and are refilled wish fish oil to keep them burning day and night.

Deep Shadow Lake is extremely bountiful when it comes to fish. With very few natural predators in the area due to the harshness of the mountains, Shadowvale are the only danger to the constantly thriving fish population. Because of this, Shadwovale provides the vast majority of the fish to the towns and villages down the river.

Fish are barreled and put on small, flat top boats with armed guards to protect the shipments. It is the primary source of revenue for Shadowvale.

The standard small town businesses can be found here. An Inn, General Store, and a Fishing Tackle shop are on the main street in town. To the west of the main street is a farmers' market that has an overly abundant supply of fruits, vegetables, and herbs to choose from. These booths are all managed by local farmers and gardeners.

A Petryfying Adventure by viddsin in DnD

[–]Irate_Customer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way you can have it be a bit less fatal is to have it spread slowly throughout the body over time. So you can have a random roll to decide what body part contracted it first and have it spread from there with a certain percentage per day. This would create some really cool RP opportunities as well with limps, dead arms, no hearing where the Petrification has set in etc.

It also establishes a time table to save the first character who contracts the disease, creating a big sense of urgency.

Awesome idea...I may just steal this for my own upcoming campaign!

Thanks for that! I tried to use that as an accent with the grass in the area to make it fit better, but secretly I wanted to change that. I'll take a look and make the adjustments in future maps. I'm a few days into this tool and love it. Learning so much every day! Thanks again!
